Abstract

Suture material is an artificial fiber used to keep wound together. Sutures are generally classified into four main categories absorbable or nonabsorbable, monofilament or multifilament. The size of suture material is measured by its width or diameter and is vital to proper wound closure. Suture removal timings vary from 3 days to 21 days.
