Background: Fast food consumption has become a global dietary norm, driven by urbanization, modernization, and accessibility. While physical health consequences like obesity and metabolic syndrome are well- ocumented, there is limited global research integrating the psychosocial and neurological dimensions of fast food intake across cultures. Objective: To examine the psychosocial and neurological impacts of fast food consumption, including emotional triggers, behavioral patterns, cultural norms, and cognitive outcomes among diverse age groups and cultures. Methods: A qualitative meta-epidemiological study was conducted using in-depth interviews with 35 participants aged 18–45 years from varied cultural backgrounds. The data were thematically analyzed, focusing on themes such as emotional eating, cognitive dissonance, cultural influences, and post-consumption effects. Results: Thematic analysis revealed that fast food is frequently used as a coping mechanism for stress and emotional distress, particularly among individuals aged 18–35. Participants reported symptoms such as mood swings, lethargy, poor sleep, and reduced attention span following fast food onsumption. Cultural normalization and peer influence reinforced habitual intake, despite awareness of its negative health consequences. Cognitive dissonance was common, with participants expressing regret post-consumption but continuing due to convenience and emotional reliance. Conclusion: Fast food consumption is not merely a dietary behavior but a culturally and emotionally embedded habit with significant implications for mental and neurological health. This study highlights the need for public health interventions that address emotional regulation, cultural context, and cognitive awareness alongside traditional nutritional education.

This study explores the implementation and impact of e-governance practices in higher education institutions in the Indian states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. As part of India’s digital transformation, e-governance has emerged as a significant tool for enhancing administrative efficiency, improving access to educational resources, and promoting transparency within universities. The study examines the extent to which these two states have adopted e-governance models, focusing on their specific policies, technological infrastructure, and initiatives such as online admission systems, digital classrooms, and e-administration platforms. Through qualitative analysis, including interviews with university officials and faculty, as well as data collection from key stakeholders, this research evaluates the effectiveness of e-governance in addressing challenges like administrative delays, student engagement, and the digital divide. The study also compares the unique approaches of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, highlighting regional differences in implementation strategies and outcomes. It concludes by offering policy recommendations to optimize the integration of e-governance in these states’ universities, with the goal of enhancing academic governance, improving educational quality, and fostering inclusivity in the digital era.

Background: Sickle cell disease (SCD) not only imposes physical health challenges but also contributes to significant mental health concerns among affected individuals and families. Genetic counselling has been proposed as a key strategy for improving psychological well-being in high-prevalence regions. Aim: To explore the mental health outcomes of individuals and families affected by SCD, with a focus on the role of genetic counselling in fostering emotional resilience and coping strategies. Objectives: 1. To assess the association between genetic counselling and mental health outcomes in SCD-affected families. 2. To compare psychological responses and coping strategies among participants with and without counselling. Material and Methods: A qualitative, cross-sectional study was conducted in a high-prevalence region for SCD, including urban and rural communities. Thirtyfive participants aged 20 to 44 years were purposively selected, omprising one patient, one caregiver, one community health worker, two healthcare professionals, and thirty community members. Data were collected through semi-structured indepth interviews and analyzed using hematic analysis. Results: Among 35 participants, 32 (91%) who had received genetic counselling reported positive mental health outcomes, including lower anxiety, reduced overthinking, better sleep, and stronger coping strategies. They expressed confidence in decision-making regarding disease management and family planning. In contrast, 3 (9%) participants without counselling reported heightened stress, disturbed sleep, feelings of isolation, and helplessness. Preventive awareness was noted in 11 (31.4%) participants, primarily among those who had undergone counselling. Conclusion: Genetic counselling significantly contributes to positive mental health outcomes by reducing anxiety and strengthening coping mechanisms in families affected by SCD. The findings emphasize the need to expand access to genetic counselling services in high-risk communities to address both awareness and psychological well-being.

This paper explores the integration of Buddhist philosophy into 21st-century education as a means to cultivate mindfulness among students and educators alike. Drawing upon the principles of mindfulness, compassion, and interconnectedness found in Buddhist teachings, this paper proposes practical strategies and approaches for incorporating mindfulness into educational curricula and pedagogical practices. The digital era presents both opportunities and challenges for fostering mindfulness. On one hand, technology offers innovative tools and platforms for delivering mindfulness practices to a wider audience. On the other hand, the constant bombardment of information and distractions can hinder our ability to cultivate present-moment awareness. By leveraging Buddhist philosophy, educators can help students navigate this digital landscape with greater resilience, focus, and emotional intelligence. integrating mindfulness into education include mindfulnessbased practices such as meditation, breath awareness, and mindful movement. Additionally, cultivating empathy, compassion, and ethical decision-making are integral aspects of a holistic approach to mindfulness education. The philosophy of education of Mahatma Buddha is a reflection of his philosophy of life.These elements of Buddhist education can contribute significantly to contemporary life, which is full of brightness, an atmosphere full of violence, desire for wealth and rights, hate and angere. By fostering self-awareness and emotional regulation, students can develop the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of the digital world with clarity and intentionality. Moreover, the integration of mindfulness into educational settings has been shown to enhance academic performance, improve emotional well-being, and foster a positive school culture. Through experiential learning activities, reflective practices, and community building exercises, educators can create environments that support the holistic development of students and promote a culture of mindfulness and compassion. the integration of Buddhist philosophy into 21st-century education offers a transformative approach to cultivating mindfulness and emotional resilience in the digital era. ABSTRACT Background: Screen-induced sleep disruption has emerged as a significant public health concern, particularly in semi-urban areas where digital adoption is rapid but awareness of sleep hygiene remains limited. Objective: This study aimed to explore digital behaviors contributing to sleep disruption, assess community perceptions, and evaluate potential public health interventions in semi-urban populations. Methods: A qualitative design was employed with 35 participants (18 males, 17 females) aged 18–45 years, purposively sampled from semi-urban communities. Semi-structured, in-depth interviews explored digital use, sleep patterns, and awareness of sleep hygiene. Data were thematically analyzed through open, axial, and selective coding. Results: Findings revealed that late-night smartphone and social media use delayed sleep onset, reduced total sleep duration, and caused next-day fatigue. While participants acknowledged the adverse impact of screen exposure, behavioral adherence to sleep hygiene was inconsistent. Community-based interventions such as digital curfews, family-supported routines, and awareness campaigns showed promise in improving sleep consistency and reducing fatigue. Conclusion: Screen-induced sleep disruption in semi-urban settings is strongly influenced by cultural and social contexts. Tailored, community-driven public health interventions are essential to reduce digital overuse at night and improve sleep health outcomes.

Nursing informatics is an emerging discipline that integrates nursing science with information and communication technologies to enhance patient care, streamline clinical workflows, and support data-driven decision-making. In India, where healthcare systems are increasingly being digitized under initiatives such as the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, the role of nursing informatics is becoming critical. This review explores the need for nursing informatics applications, focusing on their impact across hospital wards, primary healthcare centers, and community health settings. It examines key application areas, including patient management, staff duty scheduling, inventory control, referral systems, and post-discharge follow-up. The paper highlights how these systems improve patient outcomes, increase nursing efficiency, support public health planning, and align India with global digital health standards. It also addresses challenges such as resistance to change, training requirements, data privacy, and system interoperability. The findings underscore the importance of equipping nurses with informatics competencies to ensure their active participation in India’s healthcare transformation and to achieve equitable, efficient, and technology-driven care delivery.
