Abstract
This study explores the implementation and impact of e-governance practices in higher education institutions in the Indian states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. As part of India’s digital transformation, e-governance has emerged as a significant tool for enhancing administrative efficiency, improving access to educational resources, and promoting transparency within universities. The study examines the extent to which these two states have adopted e-governance models, focusing on their specific policies, technological infrastructure, and initiatives such as online admission systems, digital classrooms, and e-administration platforms. Through qualitative analysis, including interviews with university officials and faculty, as well as data collection from key stakeholders, this research evaluates the effectiveness of e-governance in addressing challenges like administrative delays, student engagement, and the digital divide. The study also compares the unique approaches of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, highlighting regional differences in implementation strategies and outcomes. It concludes by offering policy recommendations to optimize the integration of e-governance in these states’ universities, with the goal of enhancing academic governance, improving educational quality, and fostering inclusivity in the digital era
