Abstract

Organ donation is the act of giving one’s organs or tissues to be transplanted into another person. India faces a critical shortage of organ donors despite advancements in transplant medicine and better health care facilities. Lack of awareness, deeprooted myths, religious misinterpretations, and emotional hesitation contribute to the low donation rates. This paper explores the multifaceted problem through a cultural and emotional lens, backed by facts, religious insights, and real-life stories. It aims to spread awareness and proposes new strategies to increase organ donation in India and demystifies prevailing concerns using relatable analogies and inspiring teachings from mythology and religion. Emotional poetry, heartwarming donor-recipient stories, and myth-busting facts are interwoven to create a compelling narrative aimed at societal transformation.
