Development of heart along with its vascular system is a complex process taking place throughout the gestation era. Formation of pulmonary veins is rather more intricate as it involves the connection of growing lung bud to the heart tube. Developmental anomalies of the pulmonary veins are rare but significant congenital malformations that affect the embryonic development of the pulmonary vascular system. One such anomaly was found during the dissection of an eightyeight year old cadaver. The article demonstrates the congenital anomaly of the pulmonary vein, its possible cause, its effect on the health of the patient and its clinical importance.

Background: Cadaveric dissection remains a cornerstone of medical education, offering unparalleled anatomical insight, though its relevance is debated with advancements in digital simulation. This study evaluates surgeons’ perceptions of cadaveric dissection’s educational value during workshops. Aim: To assess the educational benefits of cadaveric dissection in surgical training at the Department of Anatomy, AIIMS Raipur. Objectives: 1. Evaluate the role of cadaveric dissection in enhancing surgical skills. 2. Assess its contribution to anatomical understanding. 3. Compare its effectiveness against digital simulation tools. Material: A cross-sectional study was conducted with surgeons participating in cadaver-based workshops at AIIMS Raipur. A structured questionnaire assessed perceptions of educational value. Data were analyzed using Chi-square goodnessof-fit tests (p < 0.05). Result: Among sixty four respondents, there was strong consensus supporting cadaveric dissection’s educational value (p < 0.001). Surgeons emphasized its critical role in deepening anatomical knowledge and refining surgical techniques, citing hands-on experience as superior to digital alternatives. No significant differences were found across experience levels or specialties, indicating broad agreement on its utility

Introduction: Identification of sex from skeleton remains is of great medicolegal, anthropological and archaeological importance. It is acknowledging that the hip bone is by far the best non-population specific indicator for reliable sex determination. Material and Methods: 178 Adult hip bones (54 females and 124 males) of known sex were used for the present study. We calculated Index of widening of anterior border (INDEX I), Index of widening of ant. Interspinous notch (INDEX II) and Index of widening of notch between anterior inferior iliac spine and the iliopubic eminence (INDEX III). For all these indices, we measured range, mean, standard deviation, P value and demarcating points. All the observations were tabulated, analyzed statistically and compared with the previous studies. We applied “Multivariate Linear discriminant function” as proposed by Armitage. Observations and Results: We found that if these three indices used in combination can achieve the accuracy rate of 62.10% in males and 61.80% in females with overall accuracy of 61.80%. Conclusion: All the three indices in our present study are statistically significant and can be used effectively for sex determination

The Nipple-Areolar Complex (NAC) is a highly specialized region of the anterior chest wall and breast. Studying the nipple-areolar complex (NAC) in the cadaver provides a multi-layered understanding from superficial skin morphology and ductal anatomy to the intricate, life-preserving neurovascular pedicles all of which reveal its fundamental and unique morphology. The complexity of the ductal as well as muscular arrangements within the nipple-areolar complex makes it a sensitive tissue superimposed with hormonal fluctuations. Hence this review focuses on the structural and functional aspects of the human nipple-areolar complex with a special emphasis on its surgical and anatomical significance.
