Introduction

As a faculty member in the Department of Anatomy at AIIMS Raipur, I am deeply engaged in advancing anatomical education through a blend of traditional dissection-based learning and modern, clinically immersive technologies. My academic journey has been shaped by a commitment to excellence in teaching, innovation in research, and the practical application of anatomy in clinical and surgical settings. A key focus of my work has been the design and execution of endoscopic cadaveric workshops, particularly in collaboration with the Departments of Neurosurgery and ENT-HNS. These hands-on training programs provide an unparalleled opportunity for young surgeons and postgraduate trainees to understand the intricacies of anterior skull base and other deep-seated anatomical regions using endoscopic visualization. By simulating operative scenarios on cadaveric specimens, these workshops bridge the gap between textbook knowledge and real-life surgical demands, enhancing surgical confidence and anatomical precision. In addition, I have incorporated advanced tools such as the Anatomage Virtual Dissection Table and motion sensor analysis systems into our curriculum, enabling students and clinicians alike to visualize and correlate anatomical relationships with clinical and radiological findings. My efforts also extend toward establishing a clinically oriented Cadaveric Skill Lab, which will house endoscopic systems, portable ultrasound, and interactive simulations to facilitate interdisciplinary learning and skill enhancement. I am presently authoring a pictographic surgical handbook, aimed at simplifying complex surgical anatomy through visual storytelling and sequential illustrations—making it an effective learning aid for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. As a founding faculty member of AIIMS Raipur, I remain committed to shaping it into a center of excellence that promotes innovation, collaborative learning, and global standards in medical education and anatomical research.
