Abstract

Simulation-based education (SBE) has emerged as a transformative approach in nursing education, offering a controlled environment for the development of clinical skills, critical thinking, and decision-making. This method allows nursing students to engage in realistic scenarios without the risk of patient harm, thereby enhancing their preparedness for real-world clinical settings. The integration of high-fidelity manikins, virtual reality, and standardized patients provides diverse learning experiences that cater to various educational needs. Despite its advantages, the implementation of SBE faces challenges such as high costs, limited access to resources, and the need for specialized faculty training. This article explores the benefits and challenges of simulation-based education in nursing, examines current practices and future trends, and discusses its impact on nursing practice. By addressing these aspects, the article aims to highlight the significance of SBE in shaping competent and confident nursing professionals.
