Abstract
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a progressive respiratory condition that significantly impairs pulmonary function and quality of life. In the medical-surgical nursing setting, effective management of COPD involves a combination of respiratory support, medication administration, patient education, and complication prevention. This article outlines the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic procedures, and comprehensive nursing interventions essential for managing COPD. Emphasis is placed on airway clearance techniques, nutritional support, lifestyle modification, and the nurse’s role during acute exacerbations.
