Introduction: Walter Cannon, an influential American physiologist of the early 20th century, is widely recognized as a pioneer in understanding human stress and the concept of homeostasis. Cannon was the first to describe the “fight-or-flight” response, explaining how the body reacts to threatening situations through rapid physiological changes driven by the sympathetic nervous system.
