Abstract
Traditional medicine has been a cornerstone of healthcare for millions worldwide, particularly in rural areas where accessibility and affordability are limited. The faith in herbal remedies, coupled with the shortage of medical staff and the rising costs of modern medicines, has led to a resurgence in the use of alternative medicine systems. This phenomenon is not limited to developing countries, as people in developed nations like the USA, Europe, and Japan are also turning to alternative medicines due to concerns over synthetic drugs' side effects. This paper highlights the need to integrate traditional medicine into the existing healthcare framework, ensuring quality control, standardization, and regulatory controls. It also emphasizes the importance of promoting alternative healthcare systems, particularly in Asian countries like India and China, where traditional medicine has been an integral part of their healthcare heritage.
