Abstract
In this study Quantitative approach was used with non-randomized control group pre-test and post-test design. The effectiveness of informational booklet regarding Alzheimer disease among old age people in selected urban areas of Surat city. The study was conducted at Palanpor. The sample of 60 old age people were selected through convenience sampling technique. Content validity of the developed tools and informational booklet was validated by 3 experts of Mental Health Nursing and done necessary changes in our tool. Reliability of the tool was ascertained by Karl Pearson’s method. In that one group: controlled group and another one is experimental group. In control group pre-test score was 6.033333 and post-test score was 7.866667 and standard deviation of pre-test score was 1.722079 and standard deviation of post-test score was 1.407914 and calculated ‘t’ score was 8.73, and the tabulated ‘t’ value is 2.05. In experimental group pre-test score was 6.8 and post-test score was 18.53333 and standard deviation of pre-test score was 1.681269 and standard deviation of posttest score was 1.627541 and calculated ‘t’ score was 26.02, and the tabulated ‘t’ value is 2.05. In experimental group score of post-test is higher than pre-test and mean difference 11.7333, which is statistically proved that the planned teaching programme regarding effectiveness of informational booklet regarding Alzheimer disease. The calculated ‘t’ was significantly greater than tabulated ‘t’.
