The birth weight is not only a critical determinant of child survival, growth and development but also a valuable indicator of maternal health, nutrition and also quality of life. Low birth weight is closely associated with fetal and perinatal mortality and morbidity. Objectives of The Study: 1. To assess the bio-physiological parameters among the low birth weight babies in experimental and control group. 2. To assess the sucking response among the low birth weight babies in experimental and control group. 3. To assess the effectiveness of Nesting on bio-physiological parameters among low birth weight babies in experimental group. 4. To assess the effectiveness of Nesting on sucking response among low birth weight babies in experimental group. 5. To find out the association between post-test bio-physiological parameters and sucking response in experimental Surat. The sample comprised of 60 LBW babies. Sample was selected by using purposive sampling technique. Formal written permission from selected hospitals authorities group with their selected demographic variables. Methods: A quantitative research approach with quasi experimental Non randomized control group research design was used for the study. The study was conducted at selected hospitals in was obtained prior data collection process. Bio physiological parameters like temperature, pulse, Spo2 was assessed by thermometer, pulse oximeter and manual count and sucking response was assessed by using modified early feeding skill assessment scale. Result: Result of this research study shows that the experimental group biophysiological parameters and sucking response were more improved as compare to control group. Therefore it can be concluded that Nesting is effective on biophysiological parameters and sucking response among low birth weight babies.

Introduction: Complementary feeding is a crucial aspect of newborn and young child nutrition that profoundly influences child health, growth, and development. Aim of the study: To assess the effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme on knowledge regarding complementary feeding among mothers of children aged 6 month to 2 years in selected community. Research design: Pre experimental with one group pre-test post-test designs was adopted. Methodology: Non probability Purposive sampling technique was used to select 30 mothers of children aged 6 month to 2 years. A structured questionnaire was used to assess the level of knowledge regarding complementary Feeding. After the pretest, the samples were administered structured teaching programme for a period of 20-25 minutes. After 7 days the post-test was conducted by using same structure questionnaire. The data was analyzed and interpreted using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: In experimental group the mean pre-test score was 11.3 with standard deviation 3.44 and the mean post-test score was 23.7 with the standard deviation 2.2 The mean difference was 12.43. The obtained ‘t’ value 19.3 was highly significant at p < 0.05 level. There is a significant difference between the level of knowledge among mothers. Also there is a significant association was found between posttest level of knowledge with demographic variables like occupation of mothers of children’s. Conclusion: The study clearly indicate that the STP is effective method in improving in knowledge regarding complementary feeding among mothers children aged 6 month to 2 years.

Background: Being at the heart of the health care delivery is an enormous challenge for nurses, but it is also a golden opportunity to save the life of the patient. A high level of knowledge and skill of CPR is expected for all nurses to save the life of the victims who had cardiac arrest.According to the American heart association estimated that in the world among the incidence of death due to cardiac arrest varies between 0.2 to 0.4 percent per year. WHO estimates that 60% of the world’s cardiac patients will be Indian by 2015 Cardiovascular disease related to deaths in India occur below the age group of below 70 compared with just 20% in the west. Aims and Objectives: 1. To assess the knowledge and skill regarding BLS among B.Sc(N) I & II year students. 2. To evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge and skill regarding BLS among B.Sc(N) students. 3. To find out the association between knowledge and skill among B.Sc (N) I & II year students with their selected demographic variables. Methodology: A quantitative research approach with a pre-experimental onegroup pre-test and post-test design was adopted. The study was conducted in venkateswara nursing college, Thalambur, Chennai, among 72 students among B.Sc(N) I&II year selected through non probability convenient sampling. Results: Significant improvement was observed in post-test scores (p < 0.05), indicating the effectiveness of the teaching module. Post-test knowledge levels showed a statistically significant difference in level of knowledge and skill on BLS. Conclusion: The findings suggest that a planned teaching programme significantly improves knowledge and skill among B.Sc (N) I&II year students. Implementing similar for other field of students,police man, fire workers.

Objective of this study to assess the knowledge regarding ergonomic exercises and its uses among higher secondary school students at selected schools of Olpad taluka, Surat, Gujarat. Research methodology: A quantitative research approach was adopted and 60 people of selected rural area of Olpad taluka by NonProbability convenient sampling technique. Formal permission was obtained from the authority before data collection. A Self-Structured knowledge questionnaire was used to collect the data from the participants. A Self-Structured knowledge questionnaire was prepared to assess the knowledge of samples. Content validity of developed tools and structured teaching program was established by 5 experts and necessary modification were made As suggested by them. Reliability of the tool was ascertained by Karl Pearson’s coefficient correlation (r) method. Result: The mean pre-test knowledge score was 9.50 and mean post-test knowledge score was 14.60. Significance of the difference between pre-test and post-test knowledge was statistically tested using paired ‘t’ test and it was found significant at 0.05 level (t-19.61, t-2.00 respectively). There was significant increase in the knowledge of the samples after administration of the video assisted teaching on knowledge regarding ergonomic exercise and it’s used among higher secondary school students at selected schools Olpad, taluka, Surat, Gujarat. Hence it is concluded that video assisted teaching was effective in improving the knowledge of higher secondary school students in Olpad, taluka, Surat, Gujarat.

Background: Menopause is associated with hormonal changes, particularly a decline in estrogen levels, which increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis among women. These conditions significantly affect morbidity and reduce quality of life in postmenopausal women. Despite the high prevalence, awareness regarding preventive measures remains inadequate, especially in community settings. Educational interventions focusing on knowledge, attitude, and practice are essential to promote healthy behaviours. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a structured teaching programme on knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding prevention of cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis among menopausal women. Methods: A quasi-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design was adopted. The study was conducted among 65 menopausal women attending selected health centres in Coimbatore. Participants were selected using nonprobability convenience sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire assessing knowledge, attitude, and practice. The intervention was administered using lecture and discussion methods with audiovisual aids. A posttest was conducted after seven days using the same tool. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The findings revealed a statistically significant improvement in post-test scores of knowledge, attitude, and practice compared to pre-test scores (p < 0.001), indicating the effectiveness of the intervention. Conclusions: The structured teaching programme was effective in enhancing knowledge, developing positive attitudes, and improving preventive practices among menopausal women. Such interventions can be widely implemented to improve health outcomes.

This study entitled “A study to assess the effectiveness of nurse led intervention on knowledge and practice of food borne diseases and its prevention among teenagers studying in selected school at Gonda” submitted in the year 2025. Aims: The objectives are to assess the level of knowledge and practice of food borne diseases and its prevention among teenagers in selected school at Gonda, to evaluate the effectiveness of nurse led intervention on knowledge and practice of food borne diseases and its prevention among teenagers in selected school at Gonda, To find out the association between post-test level of knowledge and practice of food borne diseases and its prevention with their selected socio demographical variables. Hypothesis: H1 There will be a significant difference between pretest and post-test knowledge on knowledge and practice of food borne diseases and its prevention among teenagers studying in selected school at Gonda. H2 There will be a significant association between post-test knowledge with selected demographic variables among teenagers in selected schools at Gonda. Design and setting: Quasiexperimental approach with one group pre-test post-test design was utilized in this study. Methods and materials: 60 samples were selected by convenient sampling technique. A structured knowledge questionnaire was utilized to assess the knowledge of the adolescents. Results: In pre-test mean 11.42 and standard deviation 2.07 and post-test mean 20.45 and standard deviation 1.33 with correlation value 0.08. t-value were 27.35 and df-59 significant with level of 0.05, showed the effectiveness of nurse led intervention regarding food borne disease and its prevention among teenagers. Conclusion: The findings of post-test the level of knowledge has improved and the score has indicated an adequate level of knowledge among teenagers regarding food borne disease and its prevention. The improvement in the level of knowledge is due to the administration of the structure-teaching programme.

Labour has been described as the most perilous journey a person ever embarks on. The reason is that, despite being a natural process, complications may occur at any point along the way. A partograph is a preprinted one-page form utilized to track labour and avert extended and obstructed labour, on which observations of labour are documented. The aim of the partograph is to assist healthcare professionals in documenting, understanding, analysing, and utilizing information to inform clinical management choices during ongoing labour. The form offers a visual representation of labour progression and logs details regarding the health of both the mother and foetus during labour. The partograph indicates variations from the typical labour progress and highlights any issues with maternal or fetal health during this time. It notifies providers when a woman might require an intervention and supports continuous assessment of the outcomes of those interventions. A significant advancement in labour management was the implementation of the partograph. A partograph illustrates the variations that take place during labour, such as cervical dilation, fetal heart rate, maternal pulse, blood pressure, and temperature. It additionally presents a numerical documentation of characteristics like urine production and the amount and kind of intravenous infusions (including oxytocin drips). Thus, one can easily spot irregularities in any of these variables. Midwives’ staff can utilize the partograph to evaluate the progression of labour and determine when intervention is required. Research indicates that employing the partograph can be very beneficial in minimizing complications arising from prolonged labour for mothers, including postpartum hemorrhage, sepsis, uterine rupture, and its consequences, as well as for new-borns, such as death, anoxia, and infections. It plays a crucial role in aiding the proper decision-making regarding transfer, caesarean delivery, or other critical interventions. The partograph is a crucial tool for overseeing labour progress. This aids in recognizing extended labour, determining the need for assisted labour, and for surgical delivery. The current pre-experimental design involving one group with pre-test and post-test was implemented among women to assess the impact of a structured teaching program on knowledge about the plotting of partographs among nursing students. The researcher chose 60 samples using a non-probability sampling method. The results indicated that knowledge levels increased following the implementation of the structured teaching program, demonstrating its effectiveness. The researcher determined that the educational tools will aid in enhancing knowledge among women and the general public. The researcher suggested that an education program and personal behaviour change training are necessary to raise awareness about he use of partographs among nursing students.
