Abstract

Policy on the regulatory environment involves quality safety and efficacy. Climatic factors demographic factors personal causes and economic causes are at the background of poverty in India. Since the 1950s the government of India and non-governmental organizations have initiated several programmes and policies to alleviate poverty which includes subsidization of food and other necessities increased access to loans improving agricultural techniques and price supports promoting education and family planning. This paper is aiming to study the socio-legal aspects of poverty in India specifically how the issues of poverty have been addressed in India under different legislative and policies over the years.
