Introduction: Meta-analysis of various studies has shown association of vitamin-D3 status with prevention, morbidity and mortality associated with respirator-tract infection. Morbidity and mortality associated with Covid-19 infection is mainly because of respiratory-tract involvement. Therefore, this study was planned to evaluate vitamin-D3 status and its clinical significance in hospitalised cases of Covid-19. Methods: This study was conducted in the department of medicine, S.P. Medical College and AGH, Bikaneron hospitalized, RT-PCR confirmed cases of Covid-19 (study group). They were compared with normal healthy subjects living in the same vicinity with history of contact with covid-19 positive patients (control group). All patients were treated as per ICMR guidelines and followed up during hospital stay. Results: Our study shows mean vitamin-D3 was significantly low in study group (16.16±7.15ng/ml) as compared to control group (34.00 ±6.30ng/ml; p<0.0001). Hypovitaminosis D was present in 94.4% of the cases. The level of vitamin D3 was found to be correlated significantly with severity of covid-19 (Mean vitamin- D317.03±7.03ng/ml in mild, 18.70±6.61ng/ml in moderate and 11.22±6.05ng/ mlin severe cases; p<0.03), comorbidities (12.42±5.74ng/ml vs 16.84±7.37ng/ml; p<0.01), requirement for mechanical ventilation (12.07±5.53ng/mlvs16.53±7.15ng/ ml; p<0.003), hospital stay (17.99±6.89ng/ml in ≤7 days, 15.74±7.03ng/ml in 8-15 days, 15.81±5.45ng/ml in >15 days; p<0.006) and poor outcome (11.22±6.05ng/ mlvs 16.24± 7.06ng/ml; p<0.002). Vitamin-D3 status was also significantly correlated with CRP-titre (p<0.04), LDH (p<0.001), Trop-I (p<0.02) and Pro-BNP level (p<0.03). Conclusion: Our study shows vitamin-D3 may have preventive role in covid-19 infection. Hypovitaminosis-D is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Further studies are required to evaluate the benefit of vitamin-D3 supplementation in such cases.

Central venous catheters are associated with a risk of complications such as infection, thrombosis, and hemorrhage. Thus, good care performance is crucial in limiting these risks. Also, nurses are supposed to integrate evidence-based performance into their care to improve patient outcomes. Objective(s): To assess nurse’s performance in preventing complications with central venous catheters and to evaluate the efficacy of an instructional program designed to improve nurses’ performance of preventing complications central venous catheter while working in critical care unit. Methodology: The current study employed a quasi-experimental design, utilising a pre-test/post-test methodology to assess changes between the control group and the study group subsequent to the implementation of the instructional program. The research was conducted between 20 December 2023 and 20 May. The study population was all critical care unites staff nurses who were available during data collection time and worked in critical care unite for more than 1 year in Baghdad teaching hospitals. Result: The instructional program demonstrates a remarkable impact on the performance of the nurses in the study group, as evidenced by the substantial and statistically significant difference in pre/post-test scores (p <.001). Conclusion: The nurses’ performance in critical care about preventing complications central venous catheter had been enhanced subsequent to the implementation of the instructional program. It is recommended to conducting training courses for nurses within continuous education in hospital is crucial to Increase nurses’ knowledge toward standard performance.

Eating disorders is prevalent among teenagers that has been increasing, influenced by social media’s emphasis on appearance of the individuals. A time of major physical and emotional transformation, adolescence is also a time when eating disorders, which are typified by body dissatisfaction, are more likely to develop, negative body image, and disordered eating patterns. These disorders are marked by preoccupation with food and weight, improper eating behaviours, and can lead to depression and suicidal ideation. This paper summarizes the key diagnostic features of various eating disorder, highlighting their psychological impact, particularly the comorbidity with anxiety and depression, and the role of emotional regulation. Integrated treatment strategies addressing both disordered eating behaviours and underlying emotional dysregulation are crucial for effective intervention and long-term recovery, especially in adolescents.

The goal of this narrative review is to offer thorough insights into the prevalent musculoskeletal problems that this demographic faces, as well as their effect, risk factors, and possible management approaches. Long periods of sitting, bad posture, a lot of homework, not being physically active, and using electronics excessively are all factors that lead to Problems, especially lower back, shoulder, and neck pain. The review emphasizes how these illnesses affect people physically, psychologically, and academically. These effects include decreased focus, absenteeism, productivity, and quality of life. Furthermore, it has been determined that stress and mental health conditions are key variables that make symptoms worse. To reduce the hazards, emphasis is placed on efficient preventative and management tactics such ergonomic treatments, consistent exercise, posture instruction, and stress-reduction methods. In order to avoid chronicity and longterm disability, the review also emphasizes the significance of early identification and intervention. Even though more children are becoming aware of Problems, there is still a lack of awareness and prevention strategies being used in schools. In order to improve students’ musculoskeletal health and academic performance, this review advocates for integrated health promotion programs that address both physical and mental health components. To investigate targeted therapies and their long-term effectiveness in this population, more research is advised.
