Naturopathy, which embraces nature cures with homeopathy, massage, spinal manipulation, and therapeutic electricity, was developed in America mainly by the work of Benedict Lust (pronounced loost; 1872-1945).1 Before 1955.1 Chiropractic and naturopathy were taught together. This separation was engineered by National Chiropractic Association by not granting accreditation to schools that also taught naturopathy.1 However, in 1956, came a unified body of naturopathic doctors established the National College of Naturopathic Medicine to promote the naturopathic profession. Dr. John Bastyr, regarded as the father of naturopathy, took over the directorship position. He was a chiropractor, naturopath, and obstetrician. There came 19851 during one interview, he differentiates between naturopathy and conventional medicine, “The basic difference is that in naturopathy it’s not the doctor who does the curing, it’s the patient.” This created attention and the awareness and promotion of Naturopathy soiled.1

Obesity has been identified as a major public health challenge of the twenty-first century across the globe. Obese individuals often face obstacles in society and in their day-to-day lives, far beyond health risks. Psychological suffering may be one of the most painful parts of obesity. Class I obesity boosts the risk of multiple diseases, including hypertension, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, stroke, asthma, pulmonary embolism, and gallbladder disease. The shatkarma of Hathayoga is indicated in excess Kapha (phlegm) and Medas (fat) condition like Obesity and Kunjalkriya or Gajakarani is one of the types of Shatkarma (Dhouti) which is easy to carry out with high compliance level has an effect on reducing the body weight. A Male patient aged 22 years approached to Swastharakshana OPD on 22nd May 2022 with a history of excessive weight gain for 2 years associated with exertional dyspnoea and excessive perspiration. After taking informed consent, Kunjal Kriya was carried out weekly twice for 4 weeks in our hospital under direct supervision. At the end of the intervention period, patient weight was reduced by 4 kgs, BMI reduced by 1.3, and good compliance to treatment was noticed.

Ammi visnaga L. (Family: Apiaceae or Umbelliferae) is an herbaceous plant with a long history of traditional medicinal uses in many countries in the world. The plant has been known since ancient times for its curative properties and has been utilized for the treatment of circulatory problems, kidney stones, asthma, bronchitis, skin problems, and whooping cough. A wide range of chemical compounds including coumarins (glycosides), flavonoids, and volatile principles have been isolated from this species. Extracts from this plant have been found to possess various pharmacological activities. This contribution provides a comprehensive review of its ethnomedical uses, chemical constituents, and pharmacological profile as a medicinal plant. In this review, particular attention has been given to the anti-anginal, hypoglycemic and diuretic effects of the plant and thus the potential use of this plant in pharmaceutics can be evaluated.

Acharya Sushrut says if a person’s Dosha, Dhatu, Agni, Mala are in equilibrium state and his Atma, Indriya, Mana all are in a pleasant state, a person is healthy. This is the complete concept of health. Many Acharya considers that Moksha is the extreme level of being healthy. Ayurveda tells the Naishthiki Chikitsa for achieving this extreme level. Yogshastraaims for the same as the Charaka says that “Yoge Moksh Pravartakah”. The Yoga is ‘to combine’ / ‘to join’/ ‘to yoke’ and it may be the combination of physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual aspects of a human being or the meeting of Jeevatma with Parmatma. According to the Upnishad, Yoga is the extreme level related to quieting of all the flatulations from the consciousness and control over the senses.

Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. Now, these days women handle many pressures regarding personal, professional and social life, so because of this pressure and busy schedule they can’t focus well on their own health and ultimately faces serious health issues like heart disease, breast cancer, PCOD, depression, osteoporosis, etc. Because of the unhealthy lifestyle, the women face multiple complications during her delivery. There is much effective Yoga that can save women from all their sufferings. This paper is going to highlight some Yoga that is beneficial for aiming healthy women, for normal delivery and for recovery from some health issues.

As we know technology is at its boom in 21st century and it has touched our every aspect of life including The Ayurveda: ‘The science of life’. So for upgrading this ancient and 5000 yrs old system of medicine there must be full fledged inclusion of technology that allows computers and machines to function in an intelligent manner. This change with the help of technology is called as Artificial intelligence. It is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. By adopting and adapting this digital world in the field of Ayurveda we can create a revolutionary change. The development of artificial intelligence (AI) in the medical field has been growing rapidly. The majority of the studies utilized AI models to predict certain patterns and find reliable computerized models to assist physicians. The objective of this article is to categorize and seek the current and further usage of AI in Ayurveda. A systematic scoping review has been conducted. The entire database, articles, and news have been used to find studies regarding AI and Ayurveda. A broad-range search strategy was applied to locate all relevant studies. Although the results from this review have shown the potential use of AI models in Ayurveda, future research ought to focus on verifying and validating the models by performing a large-scale clinical trial to better promote AI in Ayurveda in the era of digital health.

Context: Dustavraa is a combination of two Sanskrit words meaning Dusta as contaminated/ infected/chronic/non-healing and Vrana as Ulcer/wound. Chronic/ non-healing/ contaminated ulcer is a frequently encountered problem in the present era commonly as a complication of trauma or pathological insult. Ayurveda mentions Vrana Shodhana (wound cleansing) and Vrana Ropna (wound healing) as treatment modalities under the Shasti Upkramas (60 specific treatment modalities for wounds). “No plant is devoid of medicinal values on this globe” as per Ayurvedic literature. Kapila shrub (Securinega leucopyrus linn), even though doesn’t find specific mention in Ayurvedic classics but as per above statement of “all plants are with medicinal properties”, is better used as folklore medicine for wound management.

Aims: Aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of a folklore drug name Katupila over Dusta Vrana.

Methods and Material: This study includes efficacy analysis of Katupila drug as a Nirudhhalepa (smeared paste of Securinegaleucopyrus mixed with honey) for the management of DustaVrana over 30 numbers of patients who were fulfilling inclusion criteria. Daily application of Nirudhhalepa over Dustavrana was done with proper aseptic precautions until complete healing or 28 days whichever is earlier. During the study, weekly assessment according to assessment parameter was done and results were drawn accordingly.

Statistical analysis used: obtained data Analysis was done using SPSS version 23 (IBM SPSS Statistics Inc., Chicago, Illinois, USA) Windows software program. The data were checked for normality before statistical analysis using Shapiro–Wilk test. Friedman test was applied for repeated measures.

Results and conclusion: The data has shown encouraging results of wound healing to revalidate its use in wound management. All observations and results showed that Katupila Nirudhhalepa is promoting agent in the wound healing process.

Key messages: Present study validates data regarding the wound healing effect of a folklore drug named ‘Katupila’.

The objective of the study was to analyze the improvement in feelings of yoga practitioners, and the influence of the characteristics of the respondents on the improvement achieved. Data was collected through an online questionnaire from a randomly selected sample of 500 yoga practitioners from India. The questionnaire contained the 12 item feeling inventory proposed by Gauvin and Rejeski (1993), the characteristics of the respondents such as sex, age, education, marital status, and whether they had any existing psychological problems before the start of yoga practice. The total score for improvement in feelings through yoga practice was worked out as the sum of scores of the items. The data was analyzed as proportion and through t test. The results of the study establish the effect of yoga in improving positive feelings and reducing negative feelings of the practitioners. Statistically significant difference in the total score for improvement in feelings through yoga practice was observed with respect to the following characteristics of the respondents, namely, age, education, and whether the respondents were having any psychological problems before they started yoga practice or not. Sex and marital status of the respondents did not significantly influence the improvement in feelings through yoga practice.
