Abstract

The objectives of the study following: (1) To assess the knowledge regarding prevention and management of respiratorytract infection among mothers of under five children in selected villages of Olpad Taluka. (2) To evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching Programme regarding prevention and management of respiratory tract infection among mothers ofunder five children in selected villages of Olpad Taluka. Quantitative approach with pre-experimental one group pre-test posttest design. Effectiveness of structure teaching programme regarding prevention and management of respiratory tract infection among mothers of under five children in selected villages of Olpad Taluka. The study was conducted at Ishanpur, Talad, Kudiyana and Sandhiyer. The sample of 60 mothers of under five children were selected through convenience sampling technique. Content validity of the developed tool and structure teaching programme was validated by three experts of Child Health Nursing and done necessary changes in our tool reliability of the tool was ascertained by Karl Pearson’s method. In that pretest score was 6.41667 and post test score was 16 and standard deviation pretest score was 1.74444 and  standard deviation post test score was 3.57305 and calculated ‘t’ score was 11.33 and the tabulated ‘t’ value is 2.00. In the study score of post-test is higher than pretest and mean difference is 9.5833, Which is statistically prove that the effectiveness of the structure teaching programme regarding prevention and management of respiratory tract infection among mothers of under five children in selected villages of Olpad Taluka. The calculated ‘t’ was significantly greater than tabulated ‘t’.
