Abstract

Nosocomial infections represent a formidable challenge in global healthcare, significantly elevating patient morbidity, mortality, and hospital operational costs. Central to the dynamics of infection transmission and prevention are healthcare workers, particularly nurses, who maintain the highest frequency of direct patient contact. This paper explores the multifaceted role of nurses in mitigating hospitalacquired infections by examining the intersection of hospital social networks, advanced shift scheduling, and clinical decision support systems. We propose a comprehensive, nurse-centric framework that integrates dynamic temporal monitoring with structural scheduling optimizations to minimize transmission risks. By addressing both the technical systems that guide clinical decisions and the psychosocial factors that influence nurse burnout, this research provides a holistic approach to enhancing patient safety and securing the healthcare ecosystem.
