IntroductionI am Dr. Sumreen Bhatia, a healthcare management
professional with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and a Master's in Hospital
Administration (MHA). I am currently working as a Research Officer at Baba
Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, where I contribute to
institutional research, healthcare program implementation, data analysis, and
academic reporting. To further strengthen my expertise in healthcare management
and public health, I am currently pursuing a DLC Program of Post Graduate
Diploma in Management – Health & Family Welfare (PGDM-HFW) from the
National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi.
My work focuses on strengthening healthcare systems through
evidence-based research, quality improvement initiatives, and health policy.
Before joining my current role, I served as an Assistant Professor and Lecturer
in Hospital Administration at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. During my
academic tenure, I taught hospital administration, healthcare systems, hospital
operations, and quality standards while mentoring undergraduate and
postgraduate students and contributing to curriculum development. My
professional experience also includes working in hospital administration at Fortis
Hospital and IVY Hospital, where I gained practical exposure to hospital
operations, patient management, quality assurance, and interdepartmental
coordination.
My primary research interests include healthcare quality,
patient safety, hospital operations, healthcare systems strengthening,
accreditation standards, health policy, and healthcare management. I have
authored peer-reviewed journal publications and a book chapter and have
presented my research at national and international scientific conferences. I
have also participated in NABH implementation activities and have received
training in Lean Six Sigma and healthcare quality improvement methodologies.
I am an active member of several national and international
professional organizations dedicated to public health, healthcare logistics,
hospital waste management, CAHO and One Health initiatives. As a reviewer, I am
committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity by
providing objective, constructive, and timely peer reviews that support the
advancement of high-quality healthcare research and evidence-based practice.
