The phrase “out of love and affection” signifies pure altruism in living organ donation to relatives, friends, or spiritual guides under India’s THOTA 1994, where donors explicitly deny commercial intent via affidavits. Yet, relatives of accident victims invoke identical language to claim monetary compensation for “deprivation of love and affection” under MV Act 1988, creating a stark medicolegal paradox. This article dissects judicial tensions from Pranay Sethi (2017) to V. Pathmavathi (2026 LiveLaw (SC) 132), where emotional loss is subsumed under consortium despite critiques. Forensic protocols verify donor consent sans coercion, paralleling accident dependency proofs. Reforms urge harmonized recognition of non-pecuniary “affection” across domains, preventing exploitation while honoring benevolence.

Computed Tomography (CT) has evolved from simple axial image acquisition to a sophisticated modality capable of generating high-resolution volumetric and three-dimensional (3D) models. Image reconstruction—the process of converting raw projection data into diagnostic images—forms the foundation of CT imaging. Modern advancements, including iterative algorithms, Fourier-based techniques, and AI-enhanced segmentation, have significantly improved image quality, reduced noise, and enabled complex 3D visualization. This review provides a comprehensive overview of CT image reconstruction principles, algorithms, clinical applications of 3D reconstruction, the role of artificial intelligence (AI), limitations, and future directions in CT imaging.

Second-degree (partial-thickness) burns constitute a significant proportion of burn injuries encountered in clinical practice. These are usually managed conservatively, yet delayed epithelialisation and suboptimal healing remain concerns. Autologous whole blood clot (AWBC) therapy has shown efficacy in chronic wounds, but evidence in acute burns is limited. We report a 46-year-old male with a seconddegree superficial upper-limb burn treated with a point-of-care AWBC dressing following wound cleansing. The clot adhered well to the wound, maintained a moist environment, and acted as a stable biological cover. No adverse events were observed. Progressive epithelialisation with reduction in BJWAT score, good pain control, and absence of infection were noted. This case suggests that AWBC is a feasible and safe adjunct for second-degree superficial burns, warranting further evaluation in controlled studies.

Burn injuries are common among all age groups and can be a result of thermal, scald, or electrical sources. Currently, various scaffolds are employed to enhance the healing process and minimize scar formation. Collagen serves as a regenerative scaffold, helping in tissue regeneration and facilitating the formation of new blood vessels. Moreover, scaffolds such as amniotic membrane serve as adjunct in proper epithelialization and scar reduction, boasting unique anti-inflammatory and bacteriostatic properties. In this study, we used amniotic membrane allograft as a biological dressing for burn wounds on a adult patient’s arm region.
