Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) is a rare neurological disorder which manifests as a symmetrical motor paralysis that gradually ascends upward involving diaphragm and other respiratory muscles leaving the person unable to breathe on their own and landing upon catastrophe. A 23-year-old primigravida with 16 weeks of gestation presented to emergency room with bilateral progressive lower limb weakness, along with history of tetanus toxoid vaccination 4-5 days prior to this event. She developed respiratory failure in virtue of diaphragmatic involvement and was managed in critical care setting with airway management, ventilatory assistance along with multidisciplinary approach. She was successfully discharged from hospital after receiving immunoglobulin therapy and other supportive measures. Management of GBS in pregnancy has been discussed.

Reproductive health is influenced by women’s status in society and socio-economic development levels in addition to the standard and accessibility of healthcare. According to the Federation’s 1994 World Report on Women’s Health, women’s health is frequently harmed not by a lack of medicalknowledge, but rather via infringements on women’s human rights.
 

Maternal mental health plays a crucial role in determining both pregnancy and child development outcomes. Mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, and stress, are common during pregnancy and can significantly affect maternal well-being, labour complications, and neonatal health. Untreated mental health conditions during pregnancy increase the risk of preterm birth, low birth weight, and developmental delays in infants. Additionally, maternal mental health issues can hinder bonding, affect postpartum recovery, and influence the long-term emotional and cognitive development of children. Effective screening and early intervention are essential for improving both immediate and long-term health outcomes for mothers and their children. Tools such as the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) are commonly used to identify mental health concerns during pregnancy, yet challenges such as underreporting, stigma, and cultural barriers remain. Psychosocial interventions like cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), peer support, and pharmacological treatments can offer relief to mothers, but these must be carefully tailored to the needs of the pregnant population. Furthermore, integrated care approaches involving obstetricians, mental health professionals, and paediatricians are essential for providing comprehensive support. Policy reforms to improve healthcare access, reduce stigma, and offer workplace flexibility can also help mitigate maternal mental health challenges. Addressing maternal mental health not only improves the health of mothers but also promotes healthier, more resilient future generations.
 

The World Health Organisation (WHO, 1997) states that a newborn is considered normothermic if its body temperature falls between 36.5°C and 37.5°C. The three classifications are mild hypothermia (36.0–36.4°C), moderate hypothermia (32.0– 35.9°C), and severe hypothermia (<32.0°C) based on a newborn’s core temperature being below 36.5°C as assessed by skin temperature in the axilla. Numerous risk factors that fall under the categories of environmental, physiological, behavioural, and socioeconomic variables make newborns susceptible to hypothermia in the early postnatal period. Babies born by caesarean section are more vulnerable to hypothermia. Three major procedures are used to treat hypothermia: prenatal and postpartum treatments in the delivery room, prenatal and postnatal therapies throughout the journey to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and post-NICU interventions. Although the creation of professional standards encourages safer and more precise management of neonatal hypothermia and its effects, educated and qualified health workers reduce the risk of hypothermia in neonates.
 

Background: This study is done to check antenatal mothers experience on fetal movement counting and prenatal attachment and maternal worries. Most information on fetal movement counting is from home setting. Mostly women may know less about fetal movement counting and its worries. Less knowledge about available service, and reluctance to discuss symptoms with those involved in the decision to seek care. Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of fetal movement counting on prenatal attachment and maternal worries among antenatal mothers in selected rural area, Bhopal. Objectives: 1. To assess pre test knowledge of antenatal mothers regarding fetal movement counting on prenatal attachment and maternal worries. 2. To assess post test knowledge of antenatal mothers regarding fetal movement counting on prenatal attachment and maternal worries. 3. To identify significant association between pre test knowledge score of antenatal mothers regarding fetal movement counting on prenatal attachment and maternal worries and socio demographic variable. Material: In this study, one group pre-test post-test pre- experimental design was used and non-probability purposive sampling technique was adopted to select 40 antenatal mothers in home setting in adampur chhavni, Bhopal. Result: The antenatal mothers pre-test and post-test knowledge score was compared and the pre-test and post-test, mean is 14.95, 23.67 respectively and SD is 5.183, 4.434 and there is significant difference between pre-test and post-test knowledge of antenatal mothers and test score “t” value is 3.726 which is greater than the (p>005) level of significant. Conclusion: It concluded that the planned teaching programme found to be effective in improving the knowledge of rural antenatal mothers regarding fetal movement counting and prenatal attachment and maternal worries, as the knowledge increase in the post test and it shows that health education is must for remotest area people to adopt their health positively in preventive, Promotive and curative aspects.

Background: Within the first 48 hours of the postpartum period, a postpartum woman can get postpartum intrauterine contraceptive devices (PPIUCDs), which are postpartum family planning options. The best time for women to use postpartum family planning techniques in the majority of poor nations is during birth, particularly for those who reside in rural and isolated areas. Objectives are to assess the pre-test and post-test knowledge and attitude regarding postpartum intrauterine contraceptive device among married women in reproductive age group, to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on postpartum intra uterine contraceptive device among married women in reproductive age group, to correlate the relationship between knowledge and attitude of postpartum intra uterine contraceptive device among married women.Methods: The Quantitative study was conducted utilising quasi-experimental one group pretest post-test design. 60 primi mothers were selected. Data was collected and analysed with descriptive and inferential statistics.  Results: The findings of the study indicated that, the post-test mean knowledge score was found higher than the pre-test mean. Calculated’ test value was 28.4 was more than the tabulated value.  Conclusion: This study revealed that health education was effective in improving knowledge regarding postpartum intra uterine contraceptive device.
