MPKV Rahuri Central Campus (West) watershed, from Ahilyanagar District, Maharashtra, was selected for evaluation in view of prioritization for soil and water conservation and the development work. Six catchments were identified as per their outlet locations. In the drainage network, high priority for land treatments was found to 1st and 2nd order streams, due to steeper slopes the runoff generation would have been increased and for water storage structures high priority was found to 3rd and 4th order streams because of gentle and nearly flat slope. In case of slope of the study area, high priority was found to the land with more than 8% slope. Whereas, low priority were considered for the land with slope range of 1 to 8%.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative technology of the 21st century across various fields, including law. The legal profession, traditionally dependent on human reasoning and ethical judgment, is now witnessing increasing integration of AI in legal research, case prediction, and judicial administration. This paper examines the role, benefits, challenges, and ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence in the legal domain, with a particular focus on its application in the Indian judicial system. The study adopts a doctrinal and analytical research approach, relying on secondary data sources such as judicial pronouncements, government reports, international policy documents, and scholarly literature on AI and law. Findings indicate that AI enhances legal efficiency by automating routine tasks, improving research accuracy, and aiding in case management. In India, initiatives such as SUPACE and E-Courts demonstrate AI’s growing role in judicial processes. However, concerns about bias, accountability, and lack of regulation persist. It was concluded that AI holds immense potential to transform legal systems by increasing efficiency and accessibility. Yet, human oversight remains essential to ensure fairness and ethical integrity. AI should serve as an assistive tool—complementing, not replacing, human reasoning in the pursuit of justice.

Rapid urbanisation, tourism growth, and changing consumption patterns have made municipal solid waste (MSW) management a critical civic challenge in Puducherry (formerly Pondicherry), a Union Territory on India’s south-eastern coast. This paper presents a systematic review of published research, government reports, and grey literature on the generation, composition, collection, and recycling of waste found on Puducherry’s streets, situating local findings against national and global statistics. Sixty-one records were initially identified through structured searches of academic databases and institutional repositories; after removing duplicates and screening for relevance, 19 studies and reports met the inclusion criteria and were synthesised narratively following a PRISMA-informed protocol. Results show that Puducherry Urban Agglomeration generates approximately 350-530 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day, with a per-capita generation rate historically around 0.59 kg/capita/day, dominated by biodegradable material (about 65%) followed by paper, plastics, and other dry recyclables. Formal doorto-door collection and composting programmes coexist with a substantial informal recycling economy of waste pickers and scrap dealers who intercept dry recyclables before they reach dumpsites. Compared with global recycling rates below 20% and India’s national processing rate of roughly 50-79%, Puducherry’s performance is mixed: source segregation and NGO-led awareness programmes have mproved outcomes in some wards, yet open dumping, leachate contamination near disposal sites, and incomplete segregation persist. The discussion identifies infrastructure, behavioural, and governance gaps and situates Puducherry within India’s Swachh Bharat Mission trajectory. The review concludes that a scaled-up, decentralised, and formally integrated recycling model—combining source segregation, material recovery facilities, and legal recognition of informal waste

The Panchatantra by Pandit Vishnu Sharma tells us about living with animals while respecting animals. The current article deals with one such aspect of man & animals. Here the animals refer to the pets that humans keep at home. The pets may be dog, cat, rabbit & not live stocks. Dr. Abdul Kalam, the former president of India use to advocate taxing of pet owners for open defecation of pets by pet owners by the local bodies. One of the key behaviors that people should practice is that pet should also defecate at home & the stool should be disposed in the way human excreta is disposed. This means no defecation at public places. The article focuses on the management of this pet waste as a part of waste management. It explores the role of local bodies both at rural & urban areas in the nation. The article does not discuss the issue of strays. If included, one can gauge the burden of this waste. Hence, this is an important area of waste management or to say solid & liquid waste management at the village, block, tehsil, district, state & national level. The article traverses the efforts of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MOEFCC), Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation (MODWS) & the Animal Welfare Board (AWB) of India. The effort of a private enterprise named Singhal Industries are also included in the article.
