Leprosy is a major issue among medical professionals. Another name for leprosy is Hansen’s disease. It is a communicable disease that can be cured and is still common in the majority of nations worldwide. Mycobacterium leprae and Mycobacterium lepromatosis are the predominant causes of this chronic granulomatous infection, which primarily affects the skin and peripheral nerves. Decades of effort have been dedicated to controlling the disease and reducing its impact. Despite being “eradicated” by the WHO in 2000, about 0.2 million new cases were reported globally in 2017.1
 

Colostomy irrigation is a procedure in which the stoma around the skin is cleansed, bag is complied, and the hygiene is maintained to prevent infection and irritation. It is an operation in which an artificial opening is made into the colon on the anterior abdominal wall to permit the escape of faeces and flatus.

Objectives: assess the level of knowledge on colostomy irrigation among nursing student. To find out the association between the level of knowledge on colostomy irrigation among student nurses with this socio-demographic variables.

Methodology: Non probability convenience sampling technique was adopted for the study. After getting permission from institutional ethical committee, Director NMCH, Nursing dean the main study was conducted among 100 samples. Non probability convenience sampling technique was used for select the sample. Structured questionnaire was developed with 29 questions and it is used to determine the knowledge on colostomy irrigation procedure among III year B.Sc nursing students. Each day 14-15 samples was taken to data collection and 30 minutes was taken place for each sample collection. The total data collection period was 1 week. After conducting the data collection it was entered into coding sheet. The collected data was analysed based on objectives of study. The analysed data was presented in the form of figures and tables.

Result: The study concluded that most of the III year Bsc nursing students having average knowledge regarding colostomy irrigation procedure. There is need to improve the knowledge regarding colostomy irrigation procedure. There was non significant association between the level of knowledge on colostomy irrigation procedure among IIIrd year B.Sc (N) students with their selected socio demographic variables such as age in years, religion, type of diet, source of information and attended any class.

Conclusion: The study was concluded 100 samples of III year Bsc.(N) students in Narayana College of Nursing, 53(53%) had C grade level of knowledge regarding colostomy irrigation procedure. Research suggests that as a health care professional need to educate nursing students. So it is important to create knowledge among III year Bsc.(N) students by conducting awareness programme on colostomy irrigation procedure.

Background: Prostate cancer is increasingly becoming one of the most significant health problems facing men and the commonest cause of cancer-related death in men globally. Thus, screening has immense public health importance.

The aim of the study: To determine effectiveness of the educational program on attitudes concerning contributing factors and early detection for prostate cancer.

Methods: Quasi-experimental study design pre-test and post-test for both the study and the control group was used to collect the data from 160 men. Research tool was developed by Myers et al., (2005). Reliability was calculated by Cronbach alpha method and it was 0.84 to explore employee’s attitudes regarding contributing factors and early detection for prostate cancer. Data collection was done in 10th December, 2021 to 10th January, 2022. The data was analyzed and interpreted in terms of objectives and research hypotheses. Analysis was done by using descriptive and inferential statistics.

Results: The highest percentages of employees’ have positive attitudes concerning contributing factors and intention to performing early detection tests for PCA. There are no significant differences between study and control group in pre-test, while there are highly significant differences between study and control group in post-test.

Conclusion: The results study demonstrated effectiveness of the educational program in change behaviour of employees to adopt prostate cancer prevention strategies and intend to participation in early detection screening testing among participants.This study recommends Ministry of health should organize public health campaigns using the mass media to improve attitudes toward prostate cancer and use of screening practices related to diagnosis and prevention of prostate cancer.

Background: An average of 25,000 people dies each year due to fire accidents & related incidents. There are more women than men among victims. Personal health is affected by fire incidents. Accidental fires cause insecurity and death, and this can be prevented with the knowledge and education of older women.1

Method& Material: Using a straightforward random sampling methodology, 50 people are chosen for this study. It was a group pretest-posttest design. A conventional interview & personal questionnaire were used to gather data.

Results: Inferential & Descriptive statistical techniques, including mean, “t” test, frequency distribution, percentage, & chi-square test, were used for analyzing data. The study consisted of 30 questions assessing the participants knowledge levels and 8 items related to demographic and general data. Thirteen (26%) of participants having good knowledge, thirty-two (64%) having poor knowledge, & five (10%) having average knowledge. After post-test of STP (post-test), 27 out of 50 subjects (54%) having Average knowledge, followed by 16 (32%) subjects having good knowledge & 7 (14%) subjects retaining poor knowledge experience.

Conclusion: All findings indicated that post-test knowledge score (14.06±2.7) have been greater than pre-test score (8.6±3.90). Consequently, data shows that STP helps older women’s cognitive abilities.

The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act is an act of the Parliament of India which was passed in 1985 and came into effect in India from November 14, 1985. Under one of the provisions of the act, the Narcotics Control Bureau was set up with effect from March 1986. The Act is designed to fulfil India’s treaty obligations under the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, Convention on Psychotropic Substances, and United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

Aim of the study: The study aims to find the Knowledge on Selected Psychotropic Drugs among B.Sc. Nursing Fourth Year: At Selected College of Nursing, Nagpur, Maharashtra with A View to Develop an Information Booklet on Psychotropic Drugs.

Objectives:

1. Assess the learning needs of Nursing Students regarding Psychotropic drugs.

2. Develop a self-instructional module for Nursing Students regarding Psychotropic

drugs.

3. Evaluate the effectiveness of the self-instructional module for Nursing Students

regarding Psychotropic drugs.

Hypothesis:

H0 1: There is no significant difference between the pre-test and post-test knowledge of Nursing Students regarding psychotropic drug.

H0 2: There is no significant association between the demographic variables of Nursing Students and their post-test knowledge scores regarding psychotropic drug.

Methodology: The research design refers to the researcher’s overall plan for obtaining answers to the research questions and for testing the research hypothesis. The research design spells out the strategies that the researcher adopts to develop information that is accurate, objective and interpretable. The research designs provide an overall blueprint to carry out the study. For the present study the design was a Descriptive design, which includes Manipulation, Descriptive and no Randomization.

Results: The data were analyzed and interpreted in terms of objectives formulated descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. The majority of the respondents 16 (32%) were in the age group of 21-25 years, 15 (30%) were getting information from doctors, 8 (16%) were getting information from library sources, Majority of respondents income were 10001 to 15000, 26 (54%), 12 (24%) having income 15001 to 20000, 7 (14%) where income was 5000 to 10000 and 5 (10%) were having income more than 20000.

In the pre-test, respondent knowledge regarding psychotropic drug’s meaning, uses and doses 10 respondents were having the mean percent is 4.34 and SD is 1.25, Knowledge regarding action and route of administration the mean is 2.94 and SD is 0.91, Knowledge regarding types, classifications of drugs the mean is 1.8 and SD is 0.88, Knowledge regarding side effects and nurses’ responsibilities the mean percent is 3.86 and SD is 1.03. The overall knowledge mean percent is 12.94 and SD is 2.16. In pretest majority of respondent knowledge were adequate in 17 (34%), 23 (46%) were having inadequate knowledge and 10 (20%) were having moderately knowledge. The findings of the study revealed that there was no significant association between pre-test knowledge scores with selected socio-demographic variables such as age (2=4.403), gender (2=2.207), professional experience (2=7.405), In -service education (2=0.852), at 0.05 level of significance.

Conclusion: The findings of the study concluded that there was no significant association between pre-test knowledge scores with selected socio-demographic variables such as age (2 =4.403), gender (2=2.207), professional experience (2=7.405), In-service education (2=0.852), at 0.05 level of significance.
