Objective: Chronic hyperglycemia will result in many complications and patients living with diabetes are at increased risk of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia. There are basket of tests available for diagnosis of cognitive impairment, but all of them are time consuming. Minicog is simple and easy to perform and can be completed in three minutes. Early detection of MCI in patients with diabetes mellitus will help in delaying progression of cognitive decline. Methods: we enrolled 150 patients living with diabetes in our study. Minicog test was used for screening of MCI. Those having score of 3or 4 were considered to have MCI. Results: a total of 36.7% of patients had mild cognitive impairment. MCI was seen in 19% of women and 17.3% of men. Hba1c was negatively correlated with MCI. Conclusion: Minicog is a brief, simple and less time-consuming screening tool and is immensely helpful for quick screening of cognitive impairment.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is one of the most commonly diagnosed gastrointestinal conditions. It represents a significant healthcare burden and remains a clinical challenge. Over the years IBS has been described from a variety of different perspectives; from a strict illness of the gastrointestinal tract (medical model) to a more complex multi-symptomatic disorder of the brain-gut axis (biopsychosocial/ psychosomatic model).1 In this article we present aspects of the pathophysiology and the non-pharmacological treatment of IBS based on current knowledge. Effects of conditioned stress and/or traumatic influences on the emotional system (topdown) as well as effects on the intestine through stressors, infection, inflammation, food and dysbiosis (bottom-up) can affect brain-gut communication and result in dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), playing an important role in the pathophysiology of IBS. Conditioned stress together with dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system and the emotional system may involve reactions in which the distress inside the body is not recognized due to low body awareness.2 This may explain why patients have difficulty identifying their symptoms despite dysfunction in muscle tension, movement patterns, and posture and biochemical functions in addition to gastrointestinal symptoms. IBS shares many features with other idiopathic conditions, such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and somatoform disorders. The key to effective treatment is a thorough examination, including a gastroenterological examination to exclude other diseases along with an assessment of body awareness by a body-mind therapist. The literature suggests that early interdisciplinary diagnostic co-operation between gastroenterologists and body-mind therapists is necessary.3 Re-establishing balance in the ANS is an important component of IBS treatment. This article discusses the current knowledge of body-mind treatment, addressing the topic from a practical point of view.

The purpose of this article is to offer a narrative assessment of the various diabetic foot ulcer assessment methods that are included in the clinical practice recommendations. The initial assessment of diabetic foot ulcers should include a comprehensive history of both diabetes and the ulcer, a clinical examination of the ulcer (including its size, depth, and infection indicators), laboratory tests to manage the patient’s diabetes and detect any related infections, imaging tests (plain films followed by magnetic resonance imaging, if necessary) for suspected osteomyelitis, non-invasive techniques to check for peripheral artery disease, and radiological tests (Arterial Doppler, CT Angiogram) and Foot scan for pressure points assessment.

The results point to obvious deficiencies in the scope and quality of healthcare, especially in a rural setup, which calls for quick intervention through provision of culturally acceptable healthcare services. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is quickly becoming one of the most prominent causes of liver disease worldwide. The increasing incidence of NAFLD is tied to the obesity epidemic and the subsequent metabolic derangements brought along with it. Current efforts to elucidate the mechanism and causes of the disease have answered some questions, but much remains unknown about NAFLD. The aim of this article is to discuss the current knowledge regarding the athogenesis of the disease, as well as the current and future diagnostic, preventative, and therapeutic options available to clinicians for the management of NAFLD.

Introduction: Wound dimensions can be measured using various methods, including photographs, comparisons, rulers, or grids. Modern smartphones, equipped with high-quality cameras, are now more accessible and affordable, offering new opportunities in medical applications. Specialised smartphone apps have contributed numerous benefits in healthcare, particularly for wound measurement. One such app, Imitomeasure, has been developed specifically to measure wound dimensions without direct contact. This non-contact approach reduces the risk of infection compared to traditional methods using rulers or tape. Studies assessing the effectiveness of Imitomeasure have shown it to be highly effective for measuring wound dimensions. Methods: In this research, the size of the Pressure sore was measured using the Imitomeasure app on a smartphone. Post debridement and regenerative therapy, and negative pressure wound therapy size of pressure sore was noted by a free of cost, easily accessible application on the mobile phone. Results: The Immitomeasure application helped calculate wound size accurately at multiple time intervals and see progression of healing. Conclusion: Imitomeasure smartphone application can be used efficiently for measuring the size and progression of wounds efficiently with a non-contact method.
