Abstract
Housemaid is a female servant employed in domestic work like cleaning house, mopping floors, laundry and cooking. In India there are no laws to regulate the placement agencies for housemaids or even to define the rights of India’s unofficially estimated 90 million domestic workers. These women belonging to low socioeconomic class are subjected to heavy workloads and are thusprone to high health risks.
