Brief Profile: Dr. S. Thanuskodi is currently working as a Professor and Head, of the Department of Library and Information Science & Dean of, the Faculty of Arts, at Alagappa University. He has 26 years of rich professional experience in Library and Information Science. His areas of interest include Information and Communication Technology (ICT), User Studies, Bibliometrics, Webometrics, Research Methodology and Digital Libraries. He has written 29 Chapters for the Library and Information Science textbooks, and most of the books were brought out by international publishers. He has published 136 research papers in national and international journals. He has contributed around 85 research papers in national and 24 research papers at international conferences and seminars. Apart from these, he has authored one book and edited 17 books to his credit. He has guided 20 Ph.D. Scholars, 30 M.Phil. Scholars and 59 Post Graduate students in their research endeavors and 8 Ph.D. research scholars are currently doing their research under his guidance. He has obtained the UGC Research Award for the period 2016-18. He has also received the Algappa Excellence Award for Research during 2016-17 and Vallal Alagappar Research Recognition Award – 2020 for his excellent contribution to research. Prof. S. Thanuskodi has received Outstanding Research Faculty for the academic year 2017-18 by CAREERS 360, New Delhi, based on his Scopus publications. He has also received the SALIS – National Best LIS Teacher Award 2017 for his Outstanding Contributions, Services, and Achievements to the Library and Information Science Profession.
