My area of work includes pediatric, neonatal and adult congenital cases. I independently manage Anaesthesia lists in operating rooms, Cath labs, dental procedures for complex congenital cardiac patients and remote location Anaesthesia (CT, MRI, EP Lab) that includes perioperative care too. I also perform intraoperative TOE on complex congenital hearts.

As most of the patients are complex with multiple comorbidities, I work with multidisciplinary team often to plan and optimize the patients. I am regular attendee in MDTs and regularly participate in patient discussions. Very often Anaesthesia trainees ST 3 to ST-7 are posted with me in theatres and hence I am involved in training and teaching them. I also sign them off for their competencies through life long learning platform. I am faculty for CPD accredited international cardiothoracic anaesthesia and intensive care medicine fellowship course conducted at Glenfield Hospital yearly, which attracts candidates from UK and beyond.

I performed MERIT duties during COVID pandemic, intubating, securing lines and looking after adult COVID patients. I worked in adult cardiac theatres for 2 months and did complex adult cardiac cases. My first appraisal has been completed and submitted, in the month of September 2020. I had completed multisource feedback from colleagues and the patients and submitted it for my first appraisal. I am leading an audit project at present, which is an ongoing Study “clinical effect of addition of FFP to CPB prime in neonatal cardiac surgery”.
