Dr. Sheetal Barde is an experienced nursing academician, researcher, and administrator with over 16 years of experience in nursing education, research, and academic leadership. She currently serves as the Principal and Professor at Bapusaheb Thite College of Nursing, Shirur, Pune, affiliated with MUHS Nashik.
She completed her B.Sc. Nursing from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore, M.Sc. Nursing (Psychiatric Nursing) from MKSSS Bakul Tambat Institute of Nursing Education, Pune, and Ph.D. in Nursing in 2024. Her academic and clinical expertise is primarily in mental health nursing, nursing education, and community mental health research.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Barde worked as Associate Professor at Symbiosis College of Nursing, Pune, where she contributed extensively to teaching, research supervision, and curriculum development. She has also served as a Clinical Instructor at MKSSS College of Nursing, Nagpur and Symbiosis College of Nursing, Pune.
Dr. Barde has a strong research profile with more than 70 publications in national and international indexed journals, including 36 publications indexed in Scopus. Her research interests include mental health promotion, nursing education innovations, maternal and child health, and community health issues. She has also received funded research grants from Symbiosis International University for both minor and major research projects.
In addition to her research contributions, she has served as a reviewer for several international Scopus-indexed journals, contributed to academic books, and authored the book “Objective Psychology.” She has organized multiple national conferences, seminars, and workshops and has actively contributed to faculty development and student mentorship.
Dr. Barde has also
served as a NAAC Criterion 5 Head at the university level, coordinating quality
initiatives across 42 institutes. Her professional interests include nursing
research, mental health promotion, innovative teaching methodologies, and
academic leadership in nursing education.
