Introduction

Dr. Shalini Trivedi is a distinguished and highly accomplished medical professional, currently serving as the Specialist and Head of the Department of Pathology at E.S.I.C. Hospital and Dental College, Rohini, Delhi. With a strong foundation established by topping her M.D. Pathology examination from Shri M.P. Shah Medical College, she possesses extensive hands-on experience, including a significant eight-year tenure as Specialist and Head of Department at I.G.E.S.I. Hospital. Her expertise is further amplified by a Post-Doctoral Certificate Course in Apheresis & Component Technology from AIIMS, Jodhpur, marking her as a leading figure in specialized laboratory medicine, with experience in NABL and CAP-accredited facilities.

Dr. Trivedi is an innovator and leader in establishing essential clinical infrastructure, demonstrated by her successful establishment of an Immunohistochemistry laboratory and a Blood Storage Facility at I.G.E.S.I Hospital, and the full Pathology laboratory in the newly started E.S.I.C Hospital, Bhiwadi. Her technical proficiency spans advanced technologies such as Hemoglobin HPLC, Isoelectric focusing, and Flowcytometry. A committed researcher and academic, she actively contributes to the field through post-graduate teaching and by serving as a reviewer and on the editorial board for various national and international journals, including the Annals of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the American Journal of Laboratory Medicine.

Her commitment to excellence is deeply evident in her groundbreaking work in Transfusion Medicine and Hemovigilance. She led an active hemovigilance project at AIIMS Jodhpur and was appointed as the Transfusion Safety Officer, where she proactively monitored blood transfusions to ensure optimal patient outcomes—an area of expertise showcased by her team's success in performing the first-ever therapeutic plateletapheresis for Polycythaemia Vera in Rajasthan. With significant publications and a focused interest in critical areas like Carcinoma Breast, Multiple Myeloma, and Lupus Anti-coagulant, Dr. Trivedi’s career reflects a powerful blend of clinical leadership, technical standardisation, and dedication to research and patient safety.
