IntroductionI am Dr. Sarita Mishra, a dedicated and accomplished professional in Library and Information Science (LIS), currently serving as an Associate Professor at Dr. C. V. Raman University, Bilaspur. My commitment to the field is anchored by a robust academic background, culminating in a Ph.D. in LIS awarded in 2019, following M.Phil. and M.Lib. & I.Sc. degrees. This specialized academic foundation has provided me with a deep understanding of core library management principles, information retrieval, and the continuously evolving digital landscape. My formal training allows me to effectively merge traditional practices with modern technological advancements, ensuring I remain at the forefront of educational and informational services.
My professional journey spans over two decades, covering both academic instruction and practical library administration. I have spent over 11 years at Dr. C. V. Raman University, having progressed from Assistant to Associate Professor, demonstrating a sustained dedication to teaching and mentorship. Before transitioning fully into the academic role, I gained invaluable on-the-ground experience working as a Librarian and Assistant Librarian at various institutions in Bilaspur from 2002 to 2012. This dual experience is crucial, allowing me to teach practical concepts like library automation using software such as SOUL and KOHA, and to offer effective consultancy for NAAC accreditation and the establishment of new college libraries.
My career is defined by a fervent passion for research and continuous professional development, highlighted by an extensive publication record that includes co-authoring a book and numerous peer-reviewed papers. My innovative contributions have also been formally recognized with two published patents related to systematic library management systems. I have been honored with the 'Academic Excellence Award' and the 'MVLA Bharatjyoti Guru Gaurav Vidhya Ratan Award' for my commitment to quality in education and research.
