IntroductionMr. Pramod Kumar is an accomplished Library and Information Science professional currently serving as Assistant Librarian at Uttar Pradesh Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya, Mathura. With a strong academic and technical foundation, he holds an MLISc and BLISc from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, along with a PGDCA. Prior to transitioning into Library and Information Science, he earned a B.Tech. and M.Tech. from JSS Academy of Technical Education (affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University), reflecting his interdisciplinary expertise that bridges technology and modern library systems.Mr. Kumar has extensive experience in academic librarianship. He served as Library Assistant at Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University from 2020 to 2024 and earlier at University of Delhi from 2017 to 2020. His professional competencies include KOHA, DSpace, Joomla, e-resource management, digital libraries, library automation, ICT applications in libraries, scientometrics, bibliometrics, and open-source technologies.
A UGC-NET JRF qualified professional (2019) who has cleared UGC-NET seven times, Mr. Kumar has demonstrated strong research aptitude through numerous publications in reputed journals and edited volumes. His research interests encompass digital transformation in libraries, artificial intelligence applications, AR/VR in agricultural education, open-source research tools, institutional repositories, and data mining in library services. He has also contributed to scholarly discussions on emerging national initiatives such as One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) and smart library technologies.In 2024, he served as Co-Principal Investigator for a major funded research project titled “Empowering Scheduled Caste (SC-SP) Students Through Capacity Building, Digital Resources, and Skill Development,” supported by a grant of ₹60 lakhs, underscoring his commitment to inclusive education and digital empowerment. He was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. A. K. Singh, at RLBCAU, Jhansi, for his significant contribution to the implementation of the Samarth e-Governance system.A Life Member of the Indian Library Association, Mr. Kumar actively engages in professional development and scholarly initiatives. His work reflects a forward-looking vision of leveraging emerging technologies to enhance access, innovation, and excellence in academic libraries.
