IntroductionI am Dr. Sunil Vitthalrao Jagtap, a highly dedicated and experienced medical professional currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Pathology. My entire academic and professional foundation is rooted in the same institution, as I completed both my MBBS (1989) and M.D. in Pathology (1996) at KIMS, Shivaji University, Kolhapur. This deep, continuous commitment to the field has allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic pathology and clinical research.
My career trajectory reflects a progressive commitment to medical education and institutional growth. I possess extensive teaching experience, spanning over 27 years at the undergraduate (UG) level and 12 years at the postgraduate (PG) level. My journey at KIMS began as a Tutor in 1990, and I successfully advanced through the ranks of Lecturer and Associate Professor before achieving my current designation as Professor, a position I have proudly held since July 2014.
In addition to my teaching and clinical responsibilities, I maintain a prolific scholarly profile, having authored over 70 papers published in international and national index journals. My research focuses on complex and rare case reports across various pathological domains. This dedication to academic contribution has been recognized with numerous accolades throughout my career, including multiple Best Research Publication Awards from KIMS University and several competitive prizes for paper and poster presentations at major conferences.
