Introduction


Nishkarsh Gupta, MBBS, MD, DNB, PGCCHM, MNAMS is working as Professor in the Department of Onco-anesthesiology and Palliative Medicine at DRBRAIRCH, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He has been a keen researcher with more than 260 publications to his name. He has written 40 book chapters. He has been the pioneer in the field of difficult airway in head and neck oncology cases and described new techniques for airway management in these patients. He has received many awards including Best researcher award by ISA and Best reviewer award by IJA. He has been an invited faculty for more than 100 conferences. He has conducted many airway workshops across India. He us founder secretary of Society of research and education in onco-Anesthesiology and Palliative Medicine. He is also national executive committee member of IAPC, SOAPC and RSACP.  He is on the editorial board of several journals. He is the editor of the South Asian adaptation of two of the most widely popular books in anesthesia Clinical Anesthesia by Barash and Understanding Anesthesia Equipment by Dorsch & Dorsch. He has also edited 8 more books including three from springer namely, the Airway Manual, Onco-Critical Care and Problem based learning discussion in Onco-Anesthesiology.
