I am Prof. Dr. Nishat Ahmed Sheikh, a dedicated academician, clinician, and administrator with over 18 years of comprehensive experience following my M.D. in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. My career has been focused on medical education, forensic practice, and departmental leadership across prestigious medical institutions in India. Currently, I am serving as the Professor and Head of the department at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Deoghar, where I am committed to advancing the standards of forensic investigation and medical jurisprudence. My leadership roles, including prior tenure at AIIMS Gorakhpur and Jaipur National University, have provided me with a robust understanding of managing complex medical and academic responsibilities.

My foundation is built upon solid academic qualifications, starting with my MBBS and MD from esteemed institutions under Nagpur University. Beyond clinical specialization, I have proactively sought advanced, specialized training to enhance my expertise in critical niche areas of forensic science. This includes obtaining Post-Graduate Diplomas in both Forensic Odontology and Crime Scene Investigation from the International Forensic Science body. Furthermore, I hold an Advanced Training Certificate in Medical Education from JIPMER, underscoring my dedication to modern pedagogical techniques and faculty development, ensuring I remain at the forefront of training the next generation of medical professionals.

In addition to my teaching and administrative duties, I maintain a strong record of scholarly output, which includes 86 publications in peer-reviewed journals. I am also the author of the specialized textbook, “MEDICOLEGIST—One Stop Solution for Legal Problems in Hospital,” and have contributed chapters and materials to other key texts, such as the Textbook of Modern Medical Toxicology. I am driven by a commitment to bridging the gap between medical science and legal application, leveraging my knowledge in forensic analysis and crime scene principles to ensure comprehensive and ethical practice in the medicolegal field.
