The Role of Peer Review
Peer review plays a crucial role in informing editorial decisions and helping authors enhance their manuscripts through constructive feedback. As a cornerstone of scholarly communication and scientific progress, peer review relies on the active participation of experts who share their knowledge and expertise. At Red Flower Publication, we believe that scholars who contribute to the scientific community have a reciprocal responsibility to participate in the peer review process.
Invited referees who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or are unable to provide a timely review should promptly notify the editors at author@rfppl.co.in declining the invitation to allow for the identification of alternative reviewers.
Manuscripts submitted for review are considered confidential and must be handled accordingly. Reviewers must not share or discuss these documents with others, unless explicitly authorized by the Editor-in-Chief under extraordinary circumstances. This confidentiality requirement applies equally to reviewers who decline an invitation to review.
Reviews should be impartial, clear, and substantiated with evidence, enabling authors to utilize the feedback for manuscript improvement. Reviewers should focus on the manuscript's content, avoiding personal criticism or attacks on the authors.
Reviewers should recognize and mention relevant published works omitted by the authors, ensuring that any observations, derivations, or arguments previously reported are properly cited. Additionally, reviewers should alert the editors to any significant similarities or overlaps between the manuscript under review and other published or unpublished works within their knowledge.
Invited referees with conflicts of interest stemming from relationships with authors, companies, or institutions connected to the manuscript should promptly notify the editors, declare their conflicts, and decline the review invitation. This allows for alternative reviewers to be contacted.
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not use unpublished material from submitted manuscripts for their own research without explicit written consent from the authors. Additionally, reviewers must keep privileged information and ideas obtained during peer review confidential and not exploit them for personal gain, regardless of whether they accept or decline the review invitation.
