The global pandemic has forced governments across the world to rethink how public policy should be formulated. COVID-19 hit the world in a spectacular fashion, forcing governments to create public policy solutions quickly. As has been well documented in the global media, civil servants, policymakers and politicians had to make tough decisions that have had an impact on people’s daily lives. Lockdown measures were common in 2020 and 2021; in some political quarters, lockdown measures were seen to be too stringent, raising questions as to whether people really live in a democratic society. The authors of this paper will provide a critical narrative on health policy responses to COVID-19 in the United Kingdom and India geographical context.

The concept of “sustainable development” is ride on three interdependent standards: social and economic development, along with environmental protection. Sustainable Development has attracted much attention in the academic, governance, planning and development intervention space. Therefore, this study focuses on the facts on sustainable development aimed to meet requirements of new generation without compromising the strength of future generations. To achieve this aim, this paper focuses on the role of G20 towards Sustainable Development including pillars, Goals, Empowering the G20 for Urgent SDG Progress, Economic Access, National fund Mobilization, Industrialization, Business, incorruption, Growth, Innovation, Health etc. These targets followed by specific suggestions will make the economic growth of the region's countries sustainable. A holistic approach for sustainability would require registering the potentials of its strong pillars.

For the development of a nation, the Government levies taxes. The country may impose and collect taxes in exchange for the sale or purchase of goods and services. With the introduction of GST, a significant portion of the tax burden will be reduced, allowing different sectors to cut the price of their goods; a move that will benefit customers and eventually by lowering the cost of goods to the end users. It has been argued that after introduction of GST, indirect tax revenues have been increased. Accordingly, the study attempts to examine the influence of GST on indirect tax revenue in India by making a comparison of indirect tax revenue between before and after GST regime. For the purpose of our study, we have considered secondary data which have collected from budget documents of the Government of India that ranged from 2011-12 to 2022-23. In this respect, we have employed charts, tables and paired sample t-test. The empirical f indings of the study reveal that indirect tax revenue has significantly increased after the introduction of GST.

The novel speaks on behalf of numberless people who are affected by the traumatic   experience by the partition of Bengal. The protagonist of the novel Kalyani leaves her  birthplace rather forcefully when she was in her adolescent period and has given her heart  to a dark young man. From being born and brought up in a well to do family in Bangladesh  to work like a serving woman to her aunt, being bullied at college and home, she was  disillusioned by the harshness of life. She had a strong connection with her motherland. But unfortunately due to the effect of partition her father chose to send her at Kolkata  with her brothers. But her soul was connected with the nature, the soil of Bangladesh.  The motif of soil, river and trees are very much imbibed into her consciousness and her existence. Life has taught her many lessons but the memory of her childhood friends,  the freshness and attachment of her birthplace was the greatest treasure hidden in her  heart. She remembered all those traditions of Bengali community, their folk beliefs and   customs, stories, myths perfectly and thus she never forgets her birthplace. She bore the   emptiness of life with one hope that one day she will visit that pious land again which  she does after thirty years. Facing the ruthless reality she understands her dream haven has drastically changed. She goes through an inner struggle to reconnect innocence and  affection with her home, motherland and nature, her friends and folks.
