 The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act came into effect in September 2005. It provides for 100 days of guaranteed employment in one financial year to all rural households members who are willing to do manual labour. The study covers a sample of 320 beneficiaries spreading over eight grampanchayats in three revenue mandals of Kurnool district. The debt on cultivation was Rs.5001 – 10000, above Rs.5000 for festivals, Rs. 1001-2000 on children’s education and Rs. 1001-1500 for medical treatment before joining in MGNREGS. After joining the MGNREGS, the debt was above Rs.5000 on cultivation, above Rs.4000 on festivals, less than Rs.2000 on children’s education and Rs.5001- 1000 for medical treatment. The decrease in debt is significant at 1 per cent level on all aspects and concluded that the MGNREGS has lot of impact on the beneficiaries in reducing the debt position after joining. It is very useful to the unemployed and rural poor. 

 Customers today are more informed and more demanding than ever. They know quality service when they get it and they aren’t afraid of taking their business elsewhere if they don’t get it. Most manufacturers have taken this fact to heart because a refusal to acknowledge this reality can spell - failure - rejection by the one who holds the purse strings and the key to profits. Satisfaction of customer needs, in fact, provides a rationale for the firm’s existence. Therefore, consumer behavior lies at the heart of modern marketing and its knowledge is vital for a firm’s existence, growth and success. An understanding of the motives underlying the consumer behavior helps a firm to seek better and more effective ways to satisfy consumers. Consumer behavior, however, is a complex system where there is an interaction of various social, economic and psychological factors. All these factors affect the purchase decision of the buyer and his perception about different products. Buying decision process incorporates all the activities that individuals go through in their role as consumers. It starts right from the time when there is a state of deprivation (need arousal) and goes through a point when a means of need satisfaction has been obtained. It ends at a juncture when the product has been used for a sufficiently long period of time to judge the level of satisfaction (post - purchase evaluation). Satisfaction is the key to generate repeat business. It ensures customer loyalty and determines whether a customer would come to the company again.  

 This study attempts to evaluate the quality of work life of women in the fish processing sector in Tuticorin district of Tamilnadu.The data relate to the month of September 2015. Percentage analysis, averages, standard deviation, multiple linear regression co-efficient and probability analysis were used. The study revealed that 6.67% of the respondents are earning Rs.3000-4000 monthly, 53.33% of the respondents are earning Rs.4000-5000 monthly, and the others 10% of the respondents are earning Rs.5000- 6000 monthly. The average monthly income of the fish processing female workers family is Rs.3800.33.The women employed in the processing plants experienced certain job-related health ailments. The long hours of work (36.66%), constant exposure to cold water and chlorine resulted in muscle cramps (15%), skin irritation, eczema (30%), and respiratory illnesses (6.67%). Women, who form the dominant labour pool of this industry, are exploited by the industry and the contractors (11.67%)are the major problems. The study shows that independent variables contribute about 62.1 percent of the variation in the quality of work life on income by the selected sample respondents and this is statistically significant at 1% level. The result shows that there is fair relationship between quality of work life and income. Thus increase in quality of work life automatically increases income.The results of the study show that many of the fish processing centres in Tuticorin district are functioning at their full potential. Hence the study indicated that increase in quality of work life results in increase in income. The study recommended that promotion policies can be improved by giving grade for designation according to the experience of the employees. It is further recommended that the trade unions should consider the problems of the employees and should  protect the employee’s interests on time. Women should be stimulated to achieve technical competence and technical courage in the study area.
