As per WHO report 2019, the major cause of death around the World is cardiovascular ailments. To be very precise, deposition and subsequent development of plagues around the blood vessels is to be blamed. Plague is made up of mainly lipids and deposition of the same in coronary arteries may lead to myocardial infarction and may end up with heart attack and brain stroke if it gets deposited in the heart and brain respectively, in both the cases prognosis is not favorable. Over the years many attempts, right from statins to monoclonal antibodies has been made to cut down the risk associated with hyperlipedemia and this review will focus the drugs developed for lowering the lipids.

Alcohol is a highly prevalent substance that has multiple forms and trends across cultures. Alcoholic beverages vary considerably in ethyl alcohol content and their primary ingredient. With the determination of alcohol content in various beverages, both in fermented and distilled the potency of beverages can be established. For this, many different methods of measuring alcohol content have arisen. A novel method for alcohol quantitation is direct injection Gas Chromatography (GC-FID) using megapore pack column (carbowax 10%, 2 m x 0.12 mm) referring internal standard Acetone. The method effectively and efficiently determines the alcoholic concentration (% v/v) with little preparations in a wide variety of matrices with prominent outcomes in lesser time.

The current research work is validated RP-HPLC method developed and validated for simultaneous determination of Metformin and Sitagliptin in pure and combined tablet dosage forms. Sulfonylureas is used as an internal standard drug and current research method an accurate, precise and reproducible high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for quantitative estimation of Metformin and Sitagliptin simultaneously in tablet dosage forms. Shimadz SPD 10A (S.K.) gradient System UV Detector and C 18 (Primesil) column with 250 mm x 4.6 mm i.d. and 5μm particle size. Distilled water: Methanol 0.05% Ortho phosphoric acid (50:50) composition of solvent system used as the mobile phase for the method. The detection wavelength was 245 nm and flow rate was 1.2 ml/min. In the developed method, the retention time of Metformin and Sitagliptin were found to be 2.1 min and 7.6 min. The proposed research method was validated according to the ICH guidelines. The range, calibration curve, accuracy and precision, robustness was within the limits as specified by the ICH guidelines. So the proposed methods can be used for the routine quality control analysis of Metformin and Sitagliptin simultaneously in tablet dosage forms.

A simple, rapid, precise and accurate stability indicating reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was developed for the simultaneous estimation of Metformin and Ertugliflozin. Isocratic separation was achieved on Denali C18 (150 x 4.6 mm, 5 μm) column with mobile phase comprising of 0.01 N KH2PO4: acetonitrile (60:40 V/V), pH adjusted 5.4 with 0.01% ortho phosphoric acid. The flow rate was maintained at 1 mL/min and analytes were screened with UV detector at 224 nm. The method was validated according to ICH guidelines with respect to linearity, accuracy, precision and specificity. The drugs were exposed to various stress conditions like, acid, alkali, oxidation, thermal, UV and neutral and the stressed samples were analysed by the proposed method. No co-eluting, interfering peaks from excipients, impurities were observed during stress conditions and all the degraded peaks are well resolved from parent peaks.
