Delayed release drug delivery systems are a major advance towards solving problems concerning the stability and solubility of drug in gastrointestinal tract and thereby release the drug in the small intestine. Naproxen is a non-selective Cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor, which is insoluble in acidic environment and cause gastric distress or irritation. In order to prevent the gastric irritation, Naproxen is designed to formulate as Enteric coated tablet which is more soluble in pH 6.8 at small intestine.

In this review article the conducting polymer nanocomposites are highlighted as innovative material for the treatment against bacteria, fungi, microbes, etc. Conducting polymer nanocomposites have received a high interest due to the combination of unique properties of organic and inorganic components in one material which have been studied extensively by the scientific community for its antimicrobial properties. The present study investigates the antimicrobial activity of conducting polymer nanocomposites against the species such as S.aureus, P.aeruginosa, E.coli and its zone of inhibition, minimum inhibition concentration were reported. So an attempt was taken to establish the consolidated review on the significance of nanocomposite and its antimicrobial activities.

Transdermal drug delivery has gained a tremendous interest in today´s pharmaceutical formulation design and still research is going on in achieving better product. Transdermal drug delivery system is having a plenty of advantages over other drug delivery system. Voriconazole is a triazole antifungal medication that is generally used to treat serious, invasive fungal infections drug with biological half life of Dose Dependent with oral bioavaibality of 58%. The objective of the present study was to develop gellified emulsion of Voriconazole to decrease the systemic side effects and to create a more pronounced effect with lower doses of the drug. Gellified emulsion (Emulsion in gel) have emerged as one of the most interesting topical drug delivery system as it has dual release control system. Also the stability of emulsion is increased when it is incorporated into gel. The gellified emulsion was developed using polymers like carbopol 940 and HPMC K-100 in various ratios (1:1 and 1:1.5) of gel and emulsion.DSC and IR spectral studies were performed to confirm the compatibility of drug and polymers in the formulations. The prepared gellified emulsion was evaluated for their physical appearance, pH evaluation, spreadability, rheological study, drug content and in- vitro permeation studies. In-vitro drug permeation studies were carried out using keishary chein cell using egg membrane as the permeation membrane. The optimized formulations VE-4 and VE-4 showed Highest drug permeation as compared to other formulations and followed peppas with nonfickian as a best fit model in the drug release kinetics.The optimized formulations was subjected to stability studies as per ICH guidelines and concluded as stable formulations.

The present study was undertaken to determine the effects of microwaving and some cooking methods like boiling and deep-frying on Enrofloxacin (ENR) in chicken meat. Chicken meat samples incurred with known concentration of ENR were subjected to these cooking procedures. The cooked samples were then analyzed to record the level of ENR residue using Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) system. The results showed the reduction in concentration of ENR residue after different cooking processes. The most reduced level of ENR in cooked meat samples was observed in microwaving followed by deep-frying and then boiling. The result shows significant reduction in ENR level in chicken meat after cooking. It may be concluded that cooking of meat leads to decrease in the concentration of ENR.

The current work described the microwave assisted synthesis of various pyrazoline derivatives (3a-3i). Equimolar quantities of different chalcones and substituted hydrazine (Acetyl hydrazine or Phenyl hydrazine) were irradiated under microwave conditions to give the title compounds. These compounds were evaluated for in vitro antimalarial potential using schizont maturation inhibition assay using chloroquine sensitive 3D7 strain of P. falciparum. Amongst, all the compounds, the one with trimethoxy substitution (3g) was found to be most active with IC50 value of 11.63 g/mL. From the results, one could infer that bulky groups favoured antimalarial activity. The derivatives were also studied for antimicrobial effect against bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli) and fungi (Rhizopus oryza and Penicillum citrum).
