Background: A study was undertaken to assess the knowledge regarding adverse effects of cosmetics among teenagers at selected colleges. Aim: To inform the teenagers regarding the adverse effects of cosmetics through information booklet. Objectives: The study objectives are, To assess the knowledge of teenagers regarding adverse effects of cosmetics, to determine the association between the knowledge regarding adverse effects of cosmetics with their selected demographic variables, to develop and distribute informational booklet on adverse effects of cosmetics. Material: Study conducted through descriptive research design, with sample size of 30 selected by simple random sampling method. Structured Questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge level. The prestest was conducted, after statistical findings the sample were distrbuted with Information Booklet. Result: The findings of the study showed that 2 (6.66%) teenagers having inadequate knowledge, 16 (53.3%) having moderate knowledge and 12 (40%) having adequate knowledge, which shows the need of an Information bookletg regarding the Effects of Cosmetics. Conclusion: The study finding concluded that the majority of the teenagers had moderate levels of knowledge regarding adverse effects of cosmetics. The investigator has developed and validated an informational booklet for the benefit of the teenagers.

Background: Cord banking refers to as the collection, processing, and long-term storage of umbilical cord blood (UCB) after a baby`s birth. UCB contains stem cells, which can be used to treat various blood and immune system disorders. There are two main types of cord blood bank i.e. private and public. The purpose of the cord banking is primarily for family use. And to build the donor pool for individuals who needs a stem cell transplantation. UCB stem cell are used in bone marrow transplantation to help rebuild the bone marrow and restore the patients immune system. UCB is collected from the umbilical cord and placenta after the birth of baby. The UCB is processed and cryopreserved (frozen) at a specialized cord blood bank. Objectives: 1. To assess the pre-test knowledge regarding cord banking among Basic B.Sc. Nursing 3rd year students. 2. To evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching program regarding cord banking among Basic B.Sc. Nursing 3rd year students. 3. To find out the association between pre-test knowledge score and their selected demographic variable in the basic B.Sc. Nursing 3rd year students with cord banking. Material and method: This study is based on a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design was adopted for the study the sample size was 30 and the basic B.Sc. 3rd year nursing students from nursing collages using convenient sampling technique. Result: The result revealed that the computed value of knowledge is t=15.50, p=<0.05 which showed significance in the effect of planned teaching program there was no significant association cord banking among basic B.Sc. 3rd year nursing students and selected demographic variables like age, gender, belonging area, previous knowledge, education of parents and source of knowledge in cord banking acceptation of parents the result showed a positive effect by the planned teaching program by increasing the level of knowledge among basic B.Sc. 3rd year nursing students regarding cord banking. Conclusion: Hence it is concluded that, based on the above stated findings it was concluded undoubtedly that the prepared material by the researcher in the form of structure teaching students to improve their Knowledge on cord banking.

Cervical cancer poses a significant health challenge, particularly in low and middle-income countries. This study sought to assess women’s knowledge, awareness, and screening behaviours concerning cervical cancer in outpatient settings. A cross-sectional, questionnaire-based survey was conducted among 53 women attending gynaecology OPDs. Data on demographic variables, awareness, and screening practices were collected. Statistical analysis was performed to assess associations between knowledge and demographic factors. among the participants, 77.4% lacked awareness of cervical cancer, and only 22.6% demonstrated adequate knowledge of its prevention. Pap smear screening was utilized by 13.2%, while only 1.9% underwent visual inspection screening. Posters were the main source of information (9.5%). Educational and occupational status were significantly associated with knowledge levels (p = 0.001), with employed and college educated women showing better awareness. However, no significant association was observed between overall knowledge and other demographic variables. The study highlights a critical gap in cervical cancer awareness and screening uptake among women attending OPDs. Enhanced health education, improved media outreach, and targeted community interventions are essential to increase participation in cervical cancer prevention programs.

Background: Menstrual hygiene is a crucial component of adolescent health, particularly in developing countries where cultural taboos, lack of education, and poor access to sanitary products often lead to inadequate menstrual hygiene practices. This can result in serious health consequences such as urinary tract infections, reproductive tract infections, and even long-term complications like pelvic inflammatory disease. Objectives: The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of an information booklet in improving knowledge regarding menstrual hygiene among adolescent girls in selected high schools in Surajpur district, Chhattisgarh. Methods: A pre-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design was employed. The study was conducted among 40 adolescent girls aged 12–19 years using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a self-structured knowledge questionnaire. A pre-test was administered, followed by distribution of an information booklet, and a post-test was conducted after 7 days. Statistical analysis included descriptive (mean, SD, percentage) and inferential statistics (Chi-square test, paired t-test). Results: In the pre-test, 57.5% of participants had poor knowledge, 35% had average knowledge, and only 7.5% had good knowledge. After the intervention, 77.5% achieved good knowledge scores, 22.5% had average knowledge, and none remained in the poor knowledge category. The mean pre-test score was 9.92 and post-test score was 23.75, showing a significant improvement. A significant association was observed between knowledge scores and variables such as age, education, mother’s education, and previous awareness about menstrual hygiene. Conclusion: The information booklet was found to be effective in significantly improving the knowledge of adolescent girls regarding menstrual hygiene. Educational interventions like booklets are simple yet impactful tools in promoting adolescent reproductive health.

Uterine prolapse is a common gynecological condition characterized by the descent of the uterus into or beyond the vaginal canal due to weakening of the pelvic support structures. It predominantly affects multiparous and postmenopausal women, with risk factors including childbirth trauma, advancing age, obesity, and chronic intra-abdominal pressure. Clinically, it presents with symptoms such as pelvic pressure, a visible vaginal bulge, urinary and bowel dysfunction, and sexual difficulties. Diagnosis is primarily clinical, supported by pelvic examination and classification systems like the POP-Q. Management options range from conservative approaches, such as pelvic floor exercises and pessary use, to surgical interventions like vaginal hysterectomy and uterine-sparing procedures. Prevention through lifestyle modifications and pelvic muscle strengthening is essential, especially in at-risk populations. This article provides a comprehensive overview of uterine prolapse, emphasizing the importance of individualized patient care for optimal outcomes.
