Introduction: In patients with peripheral venous catheters (PVC), performing flushing is an essential procedure to maintain catheter patency and prevent complications. Although flushing is highly advisable, compliance is low and it is not usually documented. Pre-filled saline syringes used for routine flushing of PVC offer several advantages. Methodology: A randomized controlled trial study is conducted in a tertiary care hospital at Pondicherry for a period of one month in 2024 among 34 patients receiving intermittent intravenous medicine. Participants were selected by using consecutive sampling technique and divided into experimental and control group using random number tables. Experimental group (17 participants) received flushing of PVC with prefilled syringe for 3 days and control group received flushing of PVC using normal saline. Patency of PVC was assessed every 12 hours. Results: The result shows that there is no statistically significant difference between experimental and control group on patency of peripheral intravenous cannula with p value 0.214. Discussion: From the finding of this study it can be concluded that, 0.9% normal saline flush and pre filled syringe are having the same effect in maintaining the patency of peripheral intravenous cannula by preventing the occlusion formation in PVC.

Background: Abnormal uterine bleeding or Menometrorrhagia at any stage in a woman’s life can be both disruptive and concerning. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Colour Doppler Transvaginal Ultrasonography in identifying intrauterine pathologies in patients experiencing abnormal uterine bleeding. Abnormal uterine bleeding represents one of the most prevalent issues faced by gynaecologists. Almost every woman will encounter instances of bleeding at some stage in her life that may be regarded as abnormal. An accurate diagnosis is crucial due to the potential consequences of bleeding and the ramifications of the treatment. Aims: To evaluate the knowledge about role of colour Doppler & Transvaginal ultrasound during menometrorrhagia among staff nurses, and to determine the association between knowledge level among staff nurses with selected demographic variables. Materials and Methods: The methodology employed in the current study was descriptive in nature, for evaluating the knowledge structured questionnaire and observational checklist were used, numbers of subjects were 30, sampling technique of the present study is purposive sampling. Results: Graph 6: Revealed that majority of the respondents obtained average score that is about 10 (33.3%), and SD is 5.3. more or less similar respondents obtained very good score that is about 8 (26.6%), and SD will be 4.8, more or less similar respondents obtained good score that is about 8 (26.6%), and SD will be 4.9, less similar respondents perceived poor score that is about 4 (13.3%), and SD will be 2.6 and very less respondents obtained very poor score is about 1 (3.3%). Conclusion: The researcher concluded that, majority of the respondents obtained (11-15) score that is about 10 (33.3%), and SD is 5.3. more or less similar respondents obtained (21-25) score that is about 8 (26.6%), and SD will be 4.8, more or less similar respondents obtained (16-20) score that is about 8 (26.6%), and SD will be 4.9, less similar respondents obtained (6-10) score that is about 4 (13.3%), and SD will be 2.6 and very less respondents obtained (0-5) score is about 1 (3.3%)

Objectives of the study was to assess the knowledge regarding CPR and to assess the knowledge before and after administration of planned teaching Programme regarding CPR. Research methodology: A quantitative research approach was adopted and 60 Non-medical Students of selected Colleges of Olpad taluka by non-probability Purposive sampling technique. Formal permission was obtained from the authority before data collection. Self-Structured knowledge questionnaire was used to collect the data from the participants. Content validity of the developed tools and planned teaching Programme was established by 5 experts and necessary modifications were made as suggested by them. Reliability of tool was ascertained by Karl Person’s coefficients correlation (r) method. Result: The mean pre-test knowledge score was 11.8 and mean post-test knowledge score was 14.8. Significance of the difference between pre-test and post-test knowledge was statistically tested using paired ‘t’ test and it was found significant at 0.05 level (calculated t-19.5, tabulated t-2.001 respectively). There as significant increase in the knowledge of the samples after administration of the planned teaching Programme on Knowledge regarding CPR among non-medical students in Government Arts and Commerce college of Olpad Taluka. Hence it is concluded that planned teaching Programme was effective in improving the knowledge of non-medical students in Government Arts and Commerce College of Olpad Taluka. Conclusion: The conclusion was drawn based on the study. The present study concluded that the asses of effectiveness of planned teaching Programme on knowledge Regarding CPR among the non-medical students in selected colleges of Olpad Taluka is average, therefore it is necessary to provide more knowledge on CPR. This study will benefit the people by creating the awareness about CPR.

Tubercular laryngitis is an uncommon form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis and often presents with nonspecific symptoms, leading to delayed diagnosis. Hoarseness of voice may be the only presenting complaint, especially in early disease. We report a case of tubercular laryngitis in a middle-aged male who presented with persistent hoarseness of voice for one month without pulmonary symptoms. Videolaryngoscopy revealed congested and edematous vocal cords with preserved mobility, a finding consistent with early laryngeal tuberculosis. Sputum GeneXpert detected Mycobacterium tuberculosis without rifampicin resistance, which is a rapid and reliable diagnostic tool. The patient was started on antitubercular therapy with clinical stability. This case highlights the importance of considering tuberculosis in patients with persistent voice change, particularly in endemic regions.
