The scar is a general sequela of anyburns. If the scar becomes unsightly it influences the psychological or physical well beingness of the patient. The pigmentation difference of the scar with the surrounding skin is one factor that can make the scar unsightly. There are many methods of scar management. Laser Therapy using Er-YAG laser is one method of management of scars that are widely used in western countries. In India, the data on scar management using Er YAG laser and the effect of Er YAG laser on the management of the scar is few. In this article, we highlight the role of Er-YAG laser in post electrical burn scar resurfacing.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of topically applied minoxidil in the pharmacological delay phenomenon. There are various types of delay including surgical delay, pharmacological delay. We have used topical minoxidil application on latissimusdorsi flap reconstruction for a patient who had undergone neoadjuvant chemoradiation. We have found that topical minoxidil can be used to prevent flap necrosis in such conditions.

Necrotizing fasciitis is an infection of subcutaneous tissue and fascia which may spread rapidly to deeper tissue and surrounding tissue which may cause damage to the tissue and present as a localized infection and fulminant septic shock with high mortality rate. Necrotizing fasciitis will undergo extensive wound debridement of the necrotic tissue which may create huge raw area with severe morbidity to the patient. A multidisciplinary team has successfully adopted advanced reconstructive methods combined with modalities from regenerative medicine to enhance the results of difficult reconstruction. These procedures, known as "Hybrid reconstruction ladder," combine conventional reconstruction techniques with regenerative medicine applications. This review article provides a summary of the benefits of using a hybrid reconstruction ladder to create a healthy wound bed and reconstruction in a case of necrotizing fascitis.
