Cornu cutaneum is a cone shaped hyperkeratotic projection
above the skin surface resembling an animal horn. This may be
associated with broad spectrum of morphology at base i.e.benign,
premalignant, or malignant cutaneous lesions. Here we present
a 86-year-old female patient with a cutaneous horn at scalp with
squamous cell carcinoma arising from ulcerated base. This case
report aims to highlight that cornu cutaneum can occur in association
with malignancy. Also, it highlights the importance of careful
management in such scenario. Wide local excision of the growth
was done. Histopathological examination showed squamous cell
carcinoma with negative surgical margins.

A 55 year post menopausal female presented to Onco Surgery unit for complaint of lump in right breast of 11 month duration along with right axillary lymphadenopathy. On palpation soft to firm , mobile, non tender lump in upper inner quadrant measuring 5 x 4 cm was noted. FNAC of lump was positive for carcinoma cells. On mammography right breast showed hypoechoic lesion with microcalcification and increased peripheral vascularity suggestive of neoplastic lesion (BIRADSV). USG abdomen and pelvis no abnormality detected. Right modifided mastectomy was done. On histopathology reported as Mucinous carcinoma breast mixed type B with areas of neuroendocrine differentiation right brea st. Immunohistochemistry was positive for ER,PR, and negative for Her-2 neu. We are presenting this case for it clinical, radiological histopathological and immunohistochemical findings. Objective: To evaluate the Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and C-Reactive Protein (CRP) as a Early inflammatory marker in patients admitted to COVID wards and their treatment monitoring. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted. We extracted data from 76 patients with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19. NLR and CRP values were obtained from blood samples of those patients. Results: None of the 76 inpatients were lost of any values in this retrospective study. NLR and CRPof all patients were studied. CRP were found positive in 47.4% cases, while NLR was positive in only 3% cases. However, both NLR and CRP were positive in 34.2% cases. Conclusion: This study showed that CRP proved to rise fast in Inflammatory states but NLR combined with CRP can be considered in Early treatment intervention. Purpose: Dysplastic changes in megakaryocytes are important features
of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). This study was done to understand
various megakaryocytic alterations including the dysplastic forms in
hematological disorders presenting with thrombocytopenia in non-MDS.
Methods: A prospective study of bone marrow aspiration in 120 patients
with thrombocytopenia was conducted for a period of 1year from July
2019 to June 2020 in Department of Pathology, S.Nijalingappa Medical
College and HSK hospital, Bagalkot, Karnataka to assess the number and morphology of megakaryocytes in non-MDS related thrombocytopenia.
Results: Dysplastic features were observed in 100%, 86.36%, 70.17% &
33.33% cases of acute leukemia, dimorphic anemia, megaloblastic anemia and aplastic anemia respectively. Conclusion: The presence of dysplastic megakaryocytes should not lead to the diagnosis of MDS as it is also common in non MDS related thrombocytopenia. Hence, patients clinical & hematological parameters should always be correlated.

Haemoglobin disorders are a major public health problem in India.
We have studied haemoglobin patterns of various HB disorder’s at
Gokunda sub district hospital in Nanded district of Maharashtra
during period of June 2011 to June 2014. We tested 959 samples for
electrophoresis. Out of them 526 (54.8%) were sickle cell carrier and 49
(5.1%) were sickle cell disease. Electrophoresis is simple, cost effective
method for screening sickle cell disorders. It is cheap, reliable and
effective tool for screening of haemoglobinopathies.

Coronary artery disease is a progressive inflammatory disease
with atherosclerosis playing pivotal role in its etiology. Neutrophil
lymphocyte ratio(NLR) is increased in inflammatory disease and an
independant predictor of adverse cardiac events. Large platelets are
metabolically and enzymatically more active with great prothrombotic
potential and thus resulting in adverse cardiovascular events. The purpose of this study was to find whether NLR and MPV can be used as biomarkers for predicting CAD in normal individuals without any known comorbidities. Hence a cross-sectional study which includes 80 normal healthy volunteers was conducted in the Department of Pathology and
Department of Biochemistry in our institution.
