Juvenile ossifying fibroma (JOF) is a benign but potentially aggressive fibro-osseous lesion involving craniofacial bones. Children and young adults are commonly affected. Young adults and children are frequently affected. JOF is distinguished from the adult variant, based on age, site, clinical behaviour, and microscopic appearance. Its aggressive nature and high recurrence rate, demand early detection and complete surgical excision. In this article, we'll discuss two cases, that presented with maxillary and mandibular swellings and were later identified as trabecular variants of juvenile ossifying fibroma

Endodontic treatment success relies on the proper cleaning and shaping of the root canal. All the surface of the root canal must be prepared to remove the infected dentin. Many file are available with various advantages and limitations for every system to prepare the root canal. This article highlights about the metallurgy of the file that is used to manufacture the file.

The aim of the study was to evaluate and compare the physical properties of Heat & Chemically activated Denture Base Resin with addition of fillers. A total of 120 specimens were prepared. For evaluation of transverse strength and surface hardness of both Denture Base Resins, 80 specimens were prepared using standard mold measuring 65 mm x 10 mm x 2.5 mm, consisting of control plus experimental groups reinforced with three different fillers (5 wt% ZrO2 nanoparticles, 5 wt% Al2O3 nanoparticles, 2.5 wt% glass fibers). For evaluation of water sorption, 40 specimens were prepared using standard mold measuring 50 mm x 0.5 mm, consisting of control plus experimental groups reinforced with three different fillers. Results: Both Denture Base Resins showed increase in transverse strength and surface hardness after addition of fillers. Highest transverse strength and surface hardness was found to be in Heat Cure and Cold Cure reinforced with ZrO2 Nano Particles> Glass fiber >Al2O3 Nano Particles whereas the results of water sorption were in accordance with ISO specification. Conclusion: Reinforcement of both Denture Base Resins by addition of fillers can inhibit undesirable physical changes resulting from oral fluids and can prevent denture fractures by enhancing its properties.

The study aimed to evaluate and compare the effect of different denture cleansers on the physical properties of heat cure and cold cure denture base resins. A total of 150 specimens were prepared, seventy five from each denture base resin using a standard mold measuring 50 mm x 1.5 mm. For disinfection, specimens were immersed in denture cleansers (sodium hypochlorite and sodium perborate) for different time intervals (60 days, 90 days and 180 days). Surface roughness, hardness, color stability, sorption and solubility were measured for each specimen after the immersion procedure. Results: Both denture base resins tested exhibited a change in physical properties to some degree in both the cleansers. Surface roughness, change in color and solubility increased with time in both denture base resins with both the cleansers. However, the maximum increase of surface roughness, change in color and solubility was seen in CC DBR with NaBO3n H2O i.e. 2.20 μm, 2.3 ΔE and 2.9 μg/mm3 respectively. Hardness decreased with time in both denture base resins with both the cleansers. However, the maximum decrease was seen in CC DBR with NaBO3nH2O (13.20 VHN). Sorption increased with time in both DBR with both the cleansers. However, the maximum increase was seen in HC DBR with NaOCl (28.52 μg/ mm3). Conclusion: Sodium hypochlorite showed the best results when compared with sodium perborate solution and HC DBR showed the best result when compared to CC DBR.

This study includes a comparative evaluation and a general conclusion about the best advisable crown length, taper and cement for maximal retention. One hundred and twenty extracted human maxillary premolar teeth with sound surfaces were selected using dial vernier calliper. Selected teeth were randomly divided into two different CO length groups (5 mm and 7 mm). Each group was randomly divided into 4 sub groups according different degree of taper of the axial wall (0o , 3o , 6o , 9o ). The crown preparations with different tapers were achieved by graduated customized device. Preparations were verified and crowns were cast with Co–Cr alloy; metal copings were luted with GIC, RMGIC and self adhesive resin cement. Retention was measured (MPa) by separating the metal crowns from the teeth under tension on a universal testing machine, data was recorded and statistically analyzed. Increasing the crown height from 5mm to 7mm, significantly increased the tensile bond strength of cast copings among all degrees of taper. Tensile bond strength in 0o taper was significantly higher than 3 o , 6o and 9o taper. Resin cement showed significantly higher retentive strength than GIC and RMGIC
