 Yoga is the science and art of healthy living physically, mentally, morally and spiritually. Naturopathy uses natural elements such as mud pack, water, heat, sunlight, breath-control, dietetic and natural remedies such as herbs, fruits and foods to help the body heal itself. Digestive system is the main system for a healthy life, as health depends on proper food consumption and a proper digestion. But now-a-days, western life style and food habits lead to many acid peptic disorders (APD), one of them being Amlapitta. In this study, total 12 patients of Amlapitta were selected and divided randomly into two groups. In the first group, patients were treated with yogic procedures and in the second group, patients were treated with naturopathic procedures for three weeks. The A Assessment was done every week as per the criteria and finally, it was found that in both the groups statistically results were highly significant.After completion of therapy, it was found that in both groups patients were free from symptoms of Amlapitta without any adverse effects.

 Amavata is described in detail as a distinct clinical entity by Acharya Madhavakara in Madhavanidana. It is a disease of Madhyama roga marga affecting Asthisandhi in which the pain is similar to that of scorpion bite. Since many years, most of scholars have correlated Amavata to rheumatoid arthritis as described in modern science. But clinically, Amavata can be correlated to many other types of arthritis like reactive arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and SLE (Systemic lupus erythematosus). Thus, through this study of those various disorders, the authors want to highlight the fact that Amavata is not only limited to the understanding of rheumatoid arthritis, but it can be understood in a much broader manner.

Skin disorders are efficiently treated in Ayurveda by remedial and parasurgical methods. Vicharchika is a type of Kshudra Kushta; a chronic disease analogous to eczema in modern medical science. As per contemporary science, accessible treatment for eczema consists of reassurance, elimination of predisposing factors, local medicaments, steroids and palliative measures. Raktamokshana (Blood letting) is one of the explicit modalities of Shodhana (purification) in skin disorders as it involves removal of vitiated Pitta & Rakta. In the present study, two Raktamokshana modalities, i.e. Siravyadha (Venepuncture) and Shringavacharana (Horn Application) were applied with convenient approach and compared for their efficacy in the management of Vicharchika. In the study, total 62 patients were registered and divided into two groups. In group A, 30 patients were treated with Siravyadha and in group B, 32 patients were treated with Shringavacharana. A newly designed innovative Shringavacharana Yantra with vacuum pump was utilized in the respective group. For assessment of result, Wilkoxan sign rank test, paired and unpaired t test were used. Both the groups showed highly significant resultas. The study supports that Siravyadha is the best form of Raktamokshana than Shringavacharana due to its efficacy, Cost effective and easy approach.

 This study was designed to evaluate the antioxidant activity of classical poly-herbal compound Ayurvedic formulation “Amalakayas Rasayana” (AR) on experimental animals. AR was administered in standard dose orally for seven consecutive days prior to forced swimming- induced hypothermia and stress ulcers. The antioxidant potential was assessed by determining and comparing the changes in adrenal ascorbic acid, catalase, glutathione, total protein and lipid peroxidation in test drug group and vehicle control group with that of stress control group. Pretreatment with AR and vehicle caused highly significant attenuation of lipid per oxidation (p<0.001) in comparison to stress control group. Both AR and vehicle increased total glutathione content in stomach tissue homogenate in highly significant manner (p<0.001). Moreover, AR attenuated adrenal ascorbic acid (10.47%), catalase (08.11%), and total protein (06.11%), but the values are statistically insignificant. The results suggest that AR possesses significant anti-oxidant activity which could be due to its cytoprotective activity.

Shvitra is one among various skin disorders characterized by white and depigmented patches. It can be correlated with vitiligo, characterized by absence of melanocytes in affected areas of the skin. It poses a major problem for patients because of its ugly appearance and presentation on the body. In this study, patients of shvitra were randomly selected from OPD/IPD of Akhandanand Ayurveda Mahavidyalya, Ahmedabad. Twenty-three patients were treated with Khadiradi Yoga and Khadiradi Taila for 8 weaks. The response to the treatment was recorded and therapeutic effects were evaluated through symptomatic relief to the patients. From the result, it was observed that 20% patients had mild improvement while 80% patients had moderate improvement. Out of 23 patients, 3 patients were dropped out.

 Sandhigata Vata is a common Vatik disorder found in all races and can be correlated with cervical spondylosis is modern parlance. Structural as well as functional pathogenesis takes place at the level of C5-C6 of the cervical spine commonly. Agnikarma is an ideal treatment modality for the Asthi Sandhigata Vikara as per Sushruta. Till date only symptomatic treatments like analgesic - anti inflammatory drugs and spinal exercises etc. are available but none of these modalities are providing satisfactory result. Long term use of these drugs are also not free from adverse effects. This study was designed after considering all these facts.A total of 33 patients were registered and out of them 21 patients completed treatment course, in which 11patients were treated with Agnikarma (Study group) and 10 patients were treated with Trayodasanga Guggulu (control group). Finally, it was concluded that Agnikarma provided significant relief in pain, stiffness and restricted movement of the neck.
