 To treat a wound is to bring out the process of repair of the tissues in the manner most conducive to the present and future welfare of the patients. Better wound healing with minimal scar formation with least pain is the prime motto of every surgeon. The present experimental study was designed to observe the wound healing activity of an innovative compound formulation “Manjishthadi Ghrita” using excision, incision wound and dead space models in Wistar strain albino rats. The results of Manjishthadi Ghrita were compared with the results of untreated control group and results of betadine ointment, considered as positive control. Effect of wound healing activity was assessed by noting the contraction of wound size, days taken for complete healing, tensile strength assessment of the scar and histopathological examination of the granulation tissue as well as incised skin area of the wound. Test drug application did not affect the complete days taken for complete healing, tensile strength of incised skin and collagen, ground substance formation in the granulation tissue and angiogenesis to significant extent. The present study demonstrates that local application of Manjishthadi ghrita did not having significant wound healing activity in experimental animals.

 According to Ayurveda, the entire universe is made up of five basic elements or building blocks referred to ‘pancha maha bhoota siddhanta’. This includes everything in the universe., Quantum physics suggests that the basic fabrics of nature lie at the quantum level. A quantum is defined as the basic unit of matter or energy and is 10-100 million times smaller than the smallest atom.,According to Ayurveda, everything in this universe is made up of combination of these Five Great Elements. Each of these five elements represents not only the physical characteristics but also the subtle ones.

 The 867 cases of chronic fissure in ano aged between 10-60 years of both sexes complaints with painful defecation and bleeding P/R dropping and particularly burning pain with chronic linear ulcer at fissure bed, who were advised for analgesic, anti inflammatory and occasionally antibiotics modern drugs as conservative treatment and further finally diagnosed for fissurectomy. Such patients were selected for surgical study treated with ksharasutra suture treatment procedure (KSS). Taking all the preoperative measures KSS was applied once under suitable anesthesia. The treatment period was only 3-5 days while they were asked to attend the hospital for a week only for observations and the post operative management. The assessment of result was assessed through clinical parameters. The 838 cases were completely cured where as 29 patients got complications like proctitis, abscess and sinus as in numbers12, 10 and 7 respectively. And also they were managed under Ksharakarma procedure. All the demographic observations concerning to the chronic anal fissure were recorded and critically analyzed. The curing rate of the Ksharasutra suture procedure was 96.65%. No untoward effects were observed in any of the patients after cure.

 Tuberculosis still continues to exert its terrible toll on human kind. Worldwide, a person is newly infected with TB every second, and overall nearly two billion people have been exposed to TB bacterium. During the 1990s, bright hopes that the disease would be vanquished by 2025 were extinguished as a variety of medical and social factors helped TB surge back to its familiar position among major causes of death. In revised national tuberculosis control program, time tested and established Short Course Chemotherapy adopted with altered strategy, where drug doses are given on alternate days under supervision. Adverse Drug Reaction is one of major determining factors for treatment outcome. In parts of Eastern Europe, nearly half of all TB cases resist at least one first-line drug. With proper treatment, almost all cases of TB are curable. But proper treatment is not always easy to attain. Typically, a TB patient takes four different antibiotics for at least two months, then two drugs for four more months. Hitting TB germs with several drugs simultaneously lessens the chance that naturally occurring mutations in the bacteria will allow some to escape destruction. However, the drugs often cause unpleasant side effects and because of that everyone may not complete the full course of treatment. Here an attempt has been made to counteract ADR of Anti Koch’s Treatment by administering Rasayana compound which contains: Amalaki (Emblica officinalis Gaertn.), Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia (willd.)), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal), Yastimadhu (Glycyrrhiza glabra Linn.), Pippali (Piper longum Linn.), Sariva (Hemidesmus indicus R.Br.), Kustha (Saussurea lappa (Falc.)), Haridra (Curcuma longa Linn.) and Kulinjan (Alpinia galangal Linn.).

 Mind and body are intimately associated with each other. The function of body organs depends on mental makeup of an individual and vice versa. Many factors such as stress, anxiety, depression, negative thoughts, unhealthy life style, unwholesome diet etc., influence mental and physical wellbeing. In senile Dementia progressive deterioration of memory, intellect, attention, thinking, comprehension and personality etc, is encountered during old age with preservation of normal level of consciousness. Medhyarasayana ghrita is a research based newly formulated medicine which contains sankhapushpi, mandukaparni, yastimadhu, guduchi, jyotishmati, kushmanda, ashwagandha, tulsi, bhallatak,kapikachchu and zinc processed with ghee. Vachadi ghrita in form of pratimarsha nasya was administered along with oral Medhyarasayana ghrita. Vachadi ghrita nasya contains vacha, kustha, pippali which also have rasayana property. On Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale, patients had anxiety, tension, depression, difficulty in concentration & memory and fear. On Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, these patients had anxiety, depression, hypochondriasis and hopelessness. On Brief Psychiatry Rating Scale, psychological factors affected include anxiety, depression, somatic concern and tension etc. Medhyarasayana ghrita along with vachadi ghrita improved clinical features in statistically highly significant (p<0.001) manner. The bio-marker serum cholinesterase showed statistically insignificant improvement. The data reflects that disturbed mental health plays an important role in etiopathogenesis of senile dementia.

Discussion has been made regarding particular posture while practice, duration, diet prior to practice and difference with breathing exercises, physiological changes and effect on nervous system.
