Description: Chimerisation begins when two separate eggs are fertilized by two separate sperm, resulting in two fraternal zygotes. Instead of developing into two separate embryos, these two zygotes fuse during the blastocyst stage of embryonic development-one twin gets absorbed into the other and form an entire being. Instead of dying off completely, cells from the absorbed twin become integrated into the surviving twin’s body-two different sets of DNA–Tetragametic Chimera—one from each original zygote.
