Composite restorations are the most commonly used restorative material used for restoration of teeth. Postoperative sensitivity following the restoration is very common. The causes can vary from depth of cavity, total or partial exposure of dentinal tubules preparation and increased permeability to status of pulp causing increased outward fluid flow rate through the tubules. Sensitivity was elicited by application of cold (ice stick), compressed air, and masticatory forces. Many techniques have been used to overcome this problem.
