Abstract

Urolithiasis, commonly known as kidney stone disease, is a prevalent and often recurrent condition affecting a significant portion of the global population. Characterized by the formation of calculi within the urinary tract, it presents with symptoms ranging from debilitating pain and hematuria to potential complications such as infection, obstruction, and renal damage. Effective management necessitates a multidisciplinary approach, with nursing care playing a pivotal and indispensable role throughout the patient’s journey from acute presentation to long-term prevention. This article outlines a comprehensive framework for nursing care in urolithiasis, encompassing systematic assessment, targeted interventions for pain and complication management, meticulous patient education, and strategic discharge planning, all aimed at optimizing patient outcomes, promoting self-management, and enhancing overall quality of life.
