I, Dr Shruti Sharma, am an Associate Professor in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana I have done MBBS and DNB in Anaesthesiology; after that, I did my Critical Care fellowship (IDCCM). Thereafter, I was awarded a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine from New Delhi accredited by ISCCM. I have more than 20 years of experience in Anaesthesia and critical care, and in day-to-day life we deal with patients with life-threatening trauma, traumatic brain injury, sepsis, mechanical ventilation, and basic and advanced hemodynamic monitoring. I am an accredited TEACHER FOR DM & IDCCM, CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE and an ACCREDITED ACLS & FCCS INSTRUCTOR and Observer in infection prevention from Wayne state University USA Apart from my daily duties, I have a keen interest in research and academics, and I have more than 40 publications in National and international journals and many chapters in Critical Care books My affiliation is with my institute, the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine; under its aegis, I have conducted many public awareness campaigns and participated in many workshops, CMEs and conferences. I have delivered many lectures and held many panel discussions in the events conducted by the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine. My areas of interest are mechanical ventilation, infection prevention, and POCUS. Well versed in handling difficult airways, Laryngeal mask airway, Percutaneous Tracheostomy, cricothyrotomy, Video laryngoscopy, fibreoptic bronchoscope, CRRT, dialysis catheter insertion, intra-arterial line insertion (radial, brachial and femoral), chest tube insertion, peritoneal dialysis, POCUS, ultrasound-guided vascular line insertion, Hemodynamic monitoring, Cardiac output monitoring using a flow trac device, echocardiography and management of critically ill patients.
