Dr. Shimul Roy: I am conducting extensive research on the health status of both tribal and non-tribal populations. My fieldwork encompasses both rural and urban areas, with a particular emphasis on the nutritional profiles of tribal communities and the challenges faced by the elderly. My research interests include growth metrics, gerontology, mental health, well-being, and hypertension. I actively publish peer-reviewed articles and have supervised numerous postgraduate dissertations and M.Phil. dissertation. Currently, I oversee the research of four PhD scholars, promoting academic inquiry in these vital areas of public health and nutrition. In addition to my academic responsibilities and research interests, I am involved in various academic and professional bodies. I participate actively in the postgraduate board of studies and PhD committee meetings to ensure the smooth operation of these programs. Additionally, I serve as Co-Project Director for an ICSSR research project valued at 1.2 Crore.
